Lavender Kazi- I had one the other day at an italian bistro near my house and it was SO tasty.

    Lavender fused vodka
    Triple sec
    Lime juice

Shake with ice and serve in a chilled martini glass. The lavender is really refreshing and with the lime, tastes like a Hansen's soda. SO good

    They also had Orange-Basil Mojitos
Muddle basil with simple syrup and oranges then mix with Light rum and soda water.
Didn't try this one, but it was really tempting.

My friend also order a mint cucumber martini, but that one wasn't so tasty.

Since I've seen a few suggestions for cold beer.

Remember to add salt to the water and ice in your cooler. The guys on Mythbusters showed this turned a room temperature beer into a perfectly cold beer in about 5 minutes. Who says TV can't be educational.

Light beer kept in the freezer just long enough that it is almost the consistency of a Slurpee/Slushy type drink. Preferably Rolling Rock or something along those lines(microbrews are better, but there aren't many light micro's available in this area).

Keep is simple, none of that mixed drink stuff.

This here was a good drink I had the other night. I froze a bottle of wine (not on purpose, I forgot about it...but this has a good ending).

Then I took it out of the freezer for about 20 minutes. There was this nice cold little liquid on top. Which I drank up and then slept like a baby!

    Sprite

This thread inspired me to get drunk. I went to the bar and had a couple gin and tonic's. I happen to work at the bar, and got roped into icing down the beer for a free drink. The bartender made me an "adios muchacho", which I'd imagine is the same as the motherfucker mentioned earlier. There was no sweet and sour in this one, but grenadine and sprite.

    Next was the Acid Trip.

    Gin
    Tequila
    Vodka
    Malibu
    Melon (Schnapps, maybe?)
    Sprite
    Sweet and Sour

Then the Wet Kiss (I asked for a pink drink)

    Vodka
    Parrot Bay
    Watermelon Pucker
    Cherry Pucker
    Sprite

Then one the girls made up. It's called "E-Punch". This one is a shot, not a drink.

    Razzmatazz
    Bacardi 151
    Sweet and Sour
(Guess what the E stands for...)

    Everclear

The last mixed drink I had was another home made one, the Fuzzy Fuck.

    Triple Sec
    Orange Curaco
    Peach Schnapps
    Orange Juice

Then I had a Coor's Light to wash it all down. It's been fun.

2 pages in and nobody mentioned margaritas? For shame...

And I'm not talking about that nasty shite made with the mix. Nor am I talking about the weak shite that you generally get at bars. I'm talking about my father's patented margarita. Tastiest in the world, bar none (and this is coming from many experienced adult drinkers, not just an underage kid). The recipe? Family secret, bastardos.

Also, I love Pernod on a hot day. Glass carafe of ice cold water, bottle of Pernod, ice bucket, highball glass. Aaaahhh.

The PATRIOT - a boston pier/booze cruise favorite blended drink

Kind of complicated cause you have to blend 3 different parts separately then mix.

    Raspberry Vodka
+ rasp. daiquiri mix or similar.

    Lemon Vodka
+ yellow Lemonade (mike's hard will work in a pinch)

    Blue Curacao
    + Lemonade

    Layer:
    Blue mix on bottom
    Lemon mix in middle
    Red Rasp. mix on top...

Tastes just like those "ROCKET" ice pops you get on an ice cream truck.

Two(+) shots of good vodka + lemonade + Sprite + lots of ice = Sweet Tart. Nice and cold, tastes like Sweet Tart candy, and gets ya hammered in a hurry.

High end: Dirty Belvedere vodka martini
    Middle: Tanquerey and tonic

Fun: Dirty Banana - In a blender, put 4-5 cubes of ice, one banana, one shut good rum, one shot Khalua, one shot 7 (spanish sweet liqueur), spin away, serve with straw.

And, I agree, cold beer rules. But chicks generally don't dig it.

Slightly OT but related: in winter, when you get back to your truck and the beer's still warm from sitting inside (or its a warm spring day), do the 100 turns trick. Grab a can and stick it in the nearest snowbank. Pack the snow tight around the can, then spin. 100 full rotations. It doesn't actually take more than about a minute to do. And your beer is completely tasty cold.

On another note, pretty interesting seeing the mixed-drink prevalence in here. I get a lot of marketing/advertising newsletters, magazines, and such...and there is a huge uproar in the beer industry right now because liquor has beaten out beer for market share of alcoholic beverages. Most of the articles I'v read delve into how each generation tends to buck the trends of its parents...1920's-30's were liquor, baby boomers rebelled with beer, then x-gen and y-gen (are Y's old enough to drink now? guess so...) are now back to liquor.

How does me getting silly dizzy help cool my beer?

Sick and ashamed and happy (and (just cause I've never used that guy)),

The Goombay smash is a deadly one, can't taste the alcohol at all (151 on top and in the straw puts you away). I can only do about 3 and things get very grey at that point. Many have gone past 3...and most talk to the porcelin god later on...

Give me a good weisse or dunkel beer during the summer, love it!

beer is a year-round, anytime kind of drink. some of these summer-type cocktails depend on the weather... whether or not i want to get stupidly inebriated and use little umbrellas in my drinks.

AHhh Summer drinks! I heart them very much. Last night "Jungle Juice"! I have not been to a party like that in a while. Today, Bloody's, Beer, and the pool! Tomorrow, float the Colorado (Beer), State Bridge, Dirty Dozen, Makers and Ginger(my "new" ultimate summer drink). And yes margs rule. The best marg receipe you ask?.................. The"hut trip marg" Take one can Minute maid lime aid, dump in container of choice, fill minute maid can with Tequila, dump in said conatiner, add one 12 oz Budewiser, top with Grama (if your feeling fancy) stir. Salt glass, ice, pour, enjoy. I need to get back to the pool!

Can't really remember the proportions but it's called a Southern Sea-Breeze:

    Vodka (lots)
    Southern Comfort (little)
    Cranberry juice (lots)
    Orange juice (little)
