If you go Cane Creek, go with the 110. The 40s are crap for me, they last one season. The Hellbender is between I guess, cool name though.

I still say King is the end all/be all of headsets though.

Buy a CC 40. If the bearings crap out, replace them with 110 bearings.
Seriously though, of all the shit on my bike that’s niggly, the headset ain’t it. I murder my bikes with mud, road grime, pressure washers, and neglect. Rare is the ride where a slightly less smooth headset bearing made me sad.

Check giro and PI. I know that giro had a pretty nice merino line a while back. Can’t remember if that still exists and I think PI has some too.

I really like the mons royal stuff as well. They have offered pro discounts in the past. But yah you can usually find it on sale.

I think Ride NF makes wool jerseys as well. Their pants are amazing so I can bet all their stuff is but it’s pricey. Handmade in Canada tho

Not jerseys, but I've had a relationship with Point6 www.point6.com since their inception and the tees and sweats are on me almost every day. Love the t for days with the kids at the bike park and pump track and as a base layer.

Hit me up if you like any of their stuff ;-)

Instead of looking at bike clothing brands, go to wool brands, Icebreakers, Smartwool, and the plethora of lesser known brands (I've been impressed with Minus 33) all make performance Tees.

I got a Wool T-shirt from Bombas. Very surprised by how much I like it. Been layering with it all winter. Closer to 200 weight Smartwool than to 100. Long enough that it never comes untucked, but would look silly if worn untucked.

Thanks all. I have the Merino t's and long sleeved t's. Looking for Merino cycling jersey, short sleeves, full zip, pockets.

Tour Divide this June, trying to stink less than my normal jerseys after 3 days.

Swobo might be the answer, some others from suggestions as well. I'm just adverse to spending $150 on a "shirt"

Thread drift…but the ‘REI’ in every town in France is Decathlon, and you can buy all kinds of merino shirts for 30-50 euros. Does the US decathlon site have anything relevant to your search?

https://www.decathlon.fr/p/maillot-m...938?mc=8615429 Is what I saw in France. Hell maybe I buy a few next time and sell them to mags here for $60.

^ file down any sharpe edges, and you’ll be fine. You’ll get a few rough shifts here and there, but you’ll be fine.

Depending on how new it is, you can get that warrantied.

So, I picked up a used carbon wheelset on Craigslist - really nice condition, and specs seemed pretty good:

Decent quality? Reviews on the Bontrager hubs seemed reasonably good.

I successfully warrantied an X01 cassette that lost a tooth on the 50 after ~400 miles, was original owner with receipt etc. Had to go through the shop I purchased it. They (the shop) took fucking forever, but I got a brand new cassette.

I had a tooth break on an e*thirteen cassette in that same 400-500mi ballpark. Went straight to e*thirteen for the replacement. I also had to supply the proof of purchase but they were quick after that.

Interesting! I’ll have to dig for the receipt but might be able to find that.

Experts, what do you think about this:

Aenomaly SwitchGrade, basically a 3-position quick release seatpost clamp that allows you to tip the angle of the saddle by +10 and -10. Details here.
Seems like it could be useful for rides that involve long steep grinds and long downhills.
Weight penalty is about 100g with some added stack on post. Price is definitely on the steep end of things but at this point who's counting...
