I wouldn't deal with the whole torque cap thing.
Thanks. The Torque Cap thing sent me for a spin. Ordered.

Owner of the yeti dealer has run a push 11-6 on his last two sb150s. Although I heard one guy says the sb150 is better with an air shock. Idk.

Gonna be super weird at first riding this bike. I have been on the Warden for 6 seasons. I'm sure this new bike will be faster, but gonna take a minute to get used to.

Anyone used a shimano coated cable in their SRAM shifter. Any noticeable improvement. I have both in the box and have to change one on one of my kids bikes later.

Coated is nice. The grey cable housing is good as well.

Anyone using Tasco mtb gear? I impulsively ordered some cool weather gloves and am now looking at some of their shorts.

Wait. Change often if it is one piece of housing?

That is the opposite of how it came to be. We used to have pieces of cable all on the frame. Dirt got in all those end pieces and cables shifted like crap and needed to replaced OFTEN. Now with one piece housing and internal routing you can go for months and longer without changing housing. There is no spot for penetration of dirt and liquid.

I might change the derailleur once a year and housing every two years these days.

    ???

Dirt & water still get the ends which rusts the inner cable, so more drag/wear on more cable housing, which you don't notice till you change it, IMO you don't have to get special cables just change it often

I’ve got some old Gore cables sitting around. Going to try them with my sram eagle setup, and my Thomson dropper. Should be sweet.

Used Gores on my former mtb and they were money for years and years (installation is pretty fussy and you must get it right, but then you are set for a long time). Wish they still made them.

Shit is just bananas. It's like I spent the last 6 years intentionally handicapping myself. My old bike was plenty fun, but a ton more work to get it through the holes and over stuff. This bike.....just like everyone said....you point it where you want to go and it just goes. It feels long when you want it to, but then lay it over and it whips right around. Just amazing.

I DEFINITELY need a real wheelset asap. Thought I was gonna brake the rims today. Also after having a high end hub and going back to "stock" with fewer points of engagement you notice it right away. The telltale "PING" when hammering on the pedals out of turn. I definitely shouldn't really run "trail" hoops anymore.

Fork felt insane with the coil conversion. Just stoopid grip. Will need to upgrade the damper though to a Grip 2. Need a little more control over it.

Rear actually felt good with the air shock. I think the switch infinity thing is where the magic is really happening.

I just couldn't get over the grip. With the coil in the front the front wheel is like glued to the ground. The rear is as well.

Like I thought I was stoked on bikes and then today I rode this new bike. OMG.

I've got a few pairs of their socks and they're really well-made. Probably the most comfortable ones I own, TBH. I've had their gloves in the past and they were good quality, they just fit me weird (the fingers were a bit long). I'm a Handup Gloves guy these days.

Best shorts I've worn are hands down Northwest Tech. Great material, good adjustability, and I dig the custom colors.

Your problem now is that "normal" trails will quickly become boring.
