My 11 year old is now going to inherit a bike from mom.... I need a new dropper. Bike is a 2017ish Transition Scout, so 31.6 mm seatpost tube.
I was thinking the PNW Loam to be able to adjust down from the 125mm drop and make it longer as she grows, but it is $275 with a lever.. Anything better value? I'm willing to spend that, just don't want to leave too much money on the table.
I also don't mind easy shimming someone else's product, the loam just is so easy to adjust.

The one up v2s are like 185 on the website and then their lever is 44 (excluding clamp). There's a 120 you can shim down plus a 90 if it needs to be really short.

I'm swapping a set of SRAM G2 brakes for some Shimano XTs from the Planet Cyclery sale. I'm planning to keep using the SRAM Rotors and didn't order new adapters.
Will I die if I use the SRAM bolts on the Shimano calipers? I'm thinking no, but I'll want to keep the SRAM spherical washers on for the length to be correct, right?
a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Sooo, Shimano road 8 speed options for a rear derailleur on a 2x.. I believe it's just not an option for 105 and up, but would be Claris (or Tourney) only, correct?
Things are pretty interchangeable for 7-9 and sometimes 10s rear derailleurs. So like a sora 9s or any older road 9-10s derailleur should work. Maybe not the newer/current tiagra and grx, plus the 10s cages might be a little close together for an 8 or 9s chain.

Thank you for clearing that up!
Mountain 7-9 speed mechs will work too if you're just digging through parts bins.
Boa on shoes keeps popping open. Any fix?
Fill out the info on Boa website for a replacement set. Not too hard to swap it out
Kind of a dumb question but I put the fat bike conversion kit on my 1Up hitch rack this past winter. Is there any reason to switch it back for my mtb and gravel bike? Its seems to hold them just fine with fat bike set up.
I've always had the fatty 1up going as I bought it that way. Seems to me it should just be the standard rack as the width is irrelevant as long as the tray holds your tire and the bars go around it.
Not a suspension tinkerer, ride on the east coast, would i actually notice the difference with the cascade link? Seems to be all the rage but Im not sure it's worth that $$ https://cascadecomponents.bike/produ...37870391066778
I had one of the links on my Levo before I sold it. It was extremely noticeable. I had to go up in pressure / spring rate about 10%, but it also made the initial travel way more active and increased bottom out resistance a lot.
Keep in mind that the one for the SJ Evo only works for 29" mode. If you're running mullet, it won't work unless you also get a Williams Racing Products MX yoke.
I think the only thing that the narrower uprights help with is when you are first loading the bike and haven’t cranked down onto the wheels … I imagine a gravel bike in the fat tire spaced uprights is less upright by like probably just 3-4 degrees with just the rear wheel loosely placed in. Once the arms are cranked down onto the tires, I can’t imagine any real mechanical difference in how the rack would function.

Anyone know where the heck to find the Fox warranty page for suspension components?
foxracing.com/warranty appears to only be for apparel/protection.
Fox shocks is a different company from fox racing apparel
