Hightower is a good old standard BSA threaded BB. (road frames are 68mm wide, MTB are 73mm wide, the only difference is spacers on the BB)
    Your standard options are:
    BSA Shimano and Shimano Crank
BSA GXP and Sram GXP Crank
DUM SRAM BSA with SRAM DUB Crank.
Threaded BSA to 30mm with a SRAM 30mm w 104+mm wide Crank. or Race Face 30mm w 104+ wide crank.

This seems like a good price for a SRAM DUB crank + chainring:
    https://www.randombikeparts.com/coll...175mm-650g-new

That site has a permanent 10%-off code discount too, just search for whatever their current code is.

    Thanks, that's helpful.

Here's another Q for the experts: what do I need to mount a Shimano I-Spec II shifter onto a bike that does not have an I-Spec brake? I've been searching for some aftermarket clamp doohickey (e.g. a standalone handlebar clamp), and while this seems like it should be a cheap and easy thing for Chinese manufacturing, all I have found is Problem Solvers -- where, for their price, I may as well just buy a new shifter instead.

What brake do you have? There's lots of adapters from i-Spec II shifters to different brakes (SRAM MMX, i-Spec A, Magura, Hope, Hayes, etc.).

Shimano M675 SLX. Not the version with I Spec B compatibility (which is apparently labeled M675-B).

If you've really got a M675, this should work. $26 is in line with shift adapters I've found (usually $20-30 each). https://www.worldwidecyclery.com/pro...ight-hand-only
But if you've got a M670, I think you're shit outta luck. Sounds like that had a stand alone clamp, so there's no adapter available.

Brake says M675 on it, but isn't I Spec A or B compatible, so that adapter won't fit. Thanks though.

I'm about to order an air shaft to reduce the travel on my pike. The current shaft is a Debonair with the upgraded seal head. Can I just order a normal Debonair air shaft and swap over the improved seal head?

Edit: NM, went with the upgrade dealio.

Where as the RaceFace 30mm axle crammed into a 41mm hole has to use a specially spec'd and limited run production bearing that uses undersized balls for the load that it is expected to carry.
When the 30mm axle was designed, the engineers/product managers never imagined that people would try to jam a 30mm axle into a 41mm bottom bracket shell, and it wasn't until Race Face (who bough Easton (who had the carbon fiber crank technology) who was then bough by Fox) decided to go to 30mm axles across their whole line (to reduce SKU's). They engineered and made the 30mm to 41mm BB readily available, and solved the BB shell width issue by making the cinch system connection on both arms allowing for swiping out different axle lengths.
Good news is that Chris King came to the rescue. Now there is a high quality, lifetime guaranteed, threaded BB bearing for 30mm spindles. Albeit, at a high price.

You mean Kris King's $200 ($178 plus $22 "fit kit") bottom bracket that has a "5-year built-to-last warranty", plus a lifetime warranty. The only thing lifetime is time it takes to settle a warranty claim with Kris King.
I'd rather buy four $50 (retail is $70 but they always on sale) RaceFace BBs.

Wheels Mfg makes a BB for 30mm in PF41 shells - I think it's custom bearings though, which are pressed directly into the BB shell. Don't fuck up the installation!

Ya, the 30mm PF41 are the bb in question with “delicate” undersized, bike specific bearings.

In need of some help. Just bought my first FS bike, a NOS 2019 Santa Cruz Bronson. Got a nice deal online, and everything arrived packaged well. The dropper is currently not functioning though. It’s a RockShox Reverb Stealth, and is stuck in the fully raised position. The lever feels really dead, no resistance whatsoever. No amount of force will lower the seat either. Frustrating to have this issue on a brand new bike. Hope somebody has an answer, wanted to ride this weekend!

Have you checked if the cable is connected to the dropper?

The quick and easy checks are:
    -Check the hose is connected
-Check the seat post clamp for over tightness
-Check the air pressure of the reverb
-Check the adjuster speed on the lever.
If all none of these help the lever will need a bleed.

Question about an Ibis rear axle. On my Ripmo the rear axle included a plastic washer that goes between the head of the axle and frame (see picture). I just received a new Ripley frame and the rear axle does not have this spacer. The picture shown is from the Ibis website for replacement axles, so it seems that it should be included unless they changed something recently. Anyone with a Ripley V4, that could verify for me?

Ha ! I have always wondered about ^^ this, the only BB I ever killed was a shimano octalink which just kept getting louder on a 800 km tour

Stupid Question: Back in April I got a bike upgrade (Ripmo AF) and have been riding tubeless for the first time since then. The tires (Maxxis DHF 3C Exo) have started leaking air and I have to pump them up in between rides. It's not horrible and no problems while riding but kinda a pain. There are spots on the sidewall where I can see some leakage occurring. The dirt is super dusty around here so the sealant sticks out. Is this A) normal after a bit with tubeless, b) fixable by adding a bit more sealant (I didn't originally set them up and haven't taken the tires off yet) c) time for a new tire?
