    A typical Saturday at an atypical place

    Plattekill... Strange place in winter, even stranger in summer. It's steep, usually wet and filled with all kinds of loose shale, which makes it the hardest place I've ever ridden. Huge amount of dh trails stemming from the fact that it's on private land and a new course is cut for each race (4/year). Lot of ways to have fun and hurt yourself at the same time.

    Their new mountain cross course gave me the biggest beat down I've ever had on a bike. I hit what I thought was a jump.... Turned out to be similar to a giant speed bump and I got thrown off my bike and into some nice pointy rocks. Considering the crash, I'm pretty much unscathed (thank god for body armor). The course has a road gap in it, from which I abstained, but a couple of my friends hit it (part of video w/ the orange tape).
