    the land cruiser update thread

since i asked for input to buy the truck here is the 9000 km update.

right now i am living out of it. i have planting gear + surf gear+ bed. it all fits in.

i had to throw a 1000$ in maintenance like i added these cool new features called brakes, super nice, and the other is a clutch ! woa. i just had the cylinder changed. i've had hose disconnect and prestone leaks but generally its running find. i still have the injectors to get done (600$) they say my gas consomtion will drop if i do that, i am doing like 10-12L/100 km.

i wish the trunk would be 4 inches longer, i could fit in perfect. now i have to open the tail gate.

    nice all around ride.

Supposively Toyota is going out with a new jeep wrangler type car that is loosely based off the 70 Cruiser. But, once I get out of school and get a little cash I am going to get a old Crusier and just drive it until the wheels fall off.

Sweet. Never heard of anyone with the diesel variety. I've got an '83 FJ60. Brown with a sport stripe . Gas mileage sucks, but the thing rules as a trip vehicle, and pretty much goes anywhere.

    Have fun!

Yep, all Land Cruisers I see around here are diesel powered... Those old ones (~80's - 90's) are nearly impossible to destroy and that straight 6 diesel just keeps on going and going...
