    Is that the general consensus?
I know the whole issue is hot, and am prepared to try and try and try... but was thinking to begin from where volkl put the gold spot

I'm happy w/ mine mounted on the line.

The only time I noticed the shortness of the tail was doing an emergency braking turn to avoid another skier. Ended up on my ass...

    Lost the connection last night.

I would say 2 cm forward for alpine. If you like the way Salomon or Rossignol skis feel like when mounted on the line the Sanouk will feel more like that if you move a couple of cm forward.

If you tele with an active binding I would mount on the line. If you use Linken/Targa you could go 2 cm forward.

    thats what I did.

    I'll stay tuned....

BTW, I gave 150 euro (about 125 of your dolla) for solly 912 bindings. Was that a good deal (it's the first pair of alpine bindings I buy after being sold to freerides for a long time)

Just a quick pic comparing 188 Bigs mounted 2cm back of center and Sanouk 2cm forward of center. The contact points tip and tail on these is virtually identical and even with a 4 cm total shift the Nukes are still back of the Bigs.

I'm not known for my ability to resist temptation . . . .

After reading all the positive comments in this thread I may just keep the pair of Sanouks I have for sale.

did the first run sanouk have any of the problems of the first run gotama? i.e. is it safer to buy the later models or are they all comparable?

Now that Ive skied mine. I mounted them right on the line, and I couldnt imagine moving them forward at all. These are big skis and are ment to be constantly pushed. These skis are a fucking blast!
