Every day I fight battles about shit and at this point it doesn't seem worth it to keep going. Skiing has always been the thing that keeps me in line, and even that seems to be bullshit anymore.
SIIHP, assuming you are not just trolling, this and other posts indicate that you are suffering from clinical depression. Do some inter-googling and I think you will confirm your situation.
Skiing is your outlet and happiness, and stuck in summer, you are in a situational depression. But, your problem may be more than just a need for the return of winter.
If you recognize your problems year-round, year after year (your stated shyness due to self-percieved inadequacies, lack of desire and motivation to get out in the world, feelings of futility and "what's the point", etc.), then you really need to get some help.
You have a job - hopefully it has health insurance. Use it to get some professional help. You may even need better living through chemicals. Don't listen to Tom Cruise - anti-depressant drugs can be your savior - and the modern ones aren't like doing drugs, but are designed to increase the naturally occuring drugs in your brain (e.g., serotonin) that make us all happy, content and motivated. Your serotonin is probably way low and needs a little boost.
Your friend that is worried about you is rightly concerned. You are in a deep funk and you do not need to be stuck there.
    Get well soon.
P.S. - glad you are not a drinker - alcohol is a depressant and will not help.

This is one of the funnier threads I've seen here.

Assuming you're not full of shit, congratulations!
No advice except to say you're going to hurt tomorrow (today?), but that's all part of the first experience.
Alchohol can be fun, and pretty soon you'll learn how to take the pain out of it..
    Be safe.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This thread was starting to annoy me until this drunken post. And SIIHP, assuming that you are conscious this morning I am gonna concur with everyone else in this thread, except Blurred because gasoline huffing is really gross, don't start the drinking thing to cover up your issues. Oh, and don't drunk post around here looking for sympathy...or maybe don't post here at all looking for sympathy. Seek counseling my friend. And next time that you do decide to drink....don't mix vodka and brandy and schnapps. All of the rest of us learned that lesson at the age of 16, so you do have some catching up to do. And one last thing....if you don't drink how in gods name did you find your self in the company of a bunch of random bottles of alcohol?

Currently living with the rents. They have a decent size collection which is quite odd considering they don't drink a much either. Most of what they have will probably still be there when they die.

Anyways, skimming over this thread I realize just how badly I stick out from the rest of you. I knew from the day I registered that the people here were much different than myself. I knew that I would be kinda the odd ball, but figured a bunch of people into skiing, who love the mountains, how badly can I really stick out? lol. More so than I ever figured I would. So I am outta here. Perhaps I will ride a lift or pass by some of you on a mountain some day.

Self pitty is bullshit. It's an Internet forum and feathers get ruffled, get over it. Nothing wrong with a little diversity.

Whoa...stick around buddy. Were good people, and its all in good fun. Some of us have maturity issues (among other things) but know that everyone in this forum is a bit odd, otherwise we, uh, wouldn't be in this forum. And listen to Core Shot-I really don't think you could get advice that good on any other ski forum on the internet. Ya know, that says a lot about this place. You get beat around for a bit, and then you get some exellent help. I was going to say something along the lines of "oh, relax" or "take it easy" but having had a GF that was clinically depressed I've realized this doesn't help to much. So get some good help. And post pics of your sister

oh, and non alcoholics usually have better liquor cabnets than alcoholics do.
You look like I need a drink.
