    Question Beacon Practice Area Info

As chairman of the Education Commitee of Friends of Tuckerman Ravine, I have been toying with the idea of approaching the USFS Snow Rangers and discussing setting up a avi beacon practice area somewhere on the hike to or in the ravine. Anyone out there ever been involved with setting up an area? I am looking for any information that may forward this idea. Help with initial cost, materials, terrain ect. would be helpful. Basically, I have little idea of how this works and am looking for a bunch of help with figuring this project out before approaching USFS and looking for funding.

Thanks for any advice/info in advance.

Contact the Sarge via TGR. Frozen should be able to point you to him.

Wouldn't it be better to have it near a town so people could regularly practice? Having it at a popular BC area seems a bit silly.
