    Legend Pro rider (Something Strange)

    Got my Dynastar Legend Pro Rider @186 today!!

    So I take them out of the torn up box they came in and I see something VERY Strange. The tips and tails of the ski have a Metal Plate attached with three Metal screws holding them in place.
    I have never seen a picture of Legend Pros with these plates? They look like they were attached as an afterthought to keep the tips and tails from Separating?

    Has anyone seen this? Has anyone heard about this?
    What the hell did I get?
    My guess is that this is a very new retrofit Or???

    OK I have heard it twice now. So they are LP's Not some fake from (China)?
    I ordered then off the net so I was a bit freaked when I saw the Metal plate.

    I have been reading posts about LP's for two hours/ have yet to see anyone else mention the (Plate and Screws) tip and tail

    new Model

    Yeah the metal is there on the 2nd edition versions to prevent delam

    Saw some last season that were wider too... like 109 mm underfoot Just huge on a Dynastar sponsored Pro!

    IMO this was a hasty solution (although I do have a pair of 194s that are delaming on the tip.) The plates can catch a bit. I guess this will in fact keep your form in check. Spead those legs bitch!

    edit: In retrospect, I wish they were made in china as opposed to france

    Pac: Seriously, not to be a raging dick, but anybody who notices a problem with the metal caps on the LP's has their feet way too close together not only for a modern sidecut ski, but especially for a fat sk... perhaps even for epicski.com.

    You know they make cute little anti-tip crossers for kids, right? I should totally patent the idea of a magnet that keeps tips apart, except that when you cross them over, they will be stuck together... oh well.

    I don't see any problem with em really, just too much of an afterthought in a ski that retails for $1299. I beat the shit outta mine still after they started to delam, and it never went more than a couple of mms. Anyone know if I can get these deals retrofitted with the caps?

    the skis you saw that were 109 underfoot on the sponsored rider were the legend pro xxl. these skis are a bit softer than the pro but everybit as bad ass, dynastar is releasing them on the market this season. only a few pairs were in circulation during the second half of last year.

    the metal fitting is what dynastar did with a lot of the pros from 2005 2006, it was just a different way of molding the base layers together. The skis with the metal outfittings as far as I know are different only in the fact that the base layers were rapped differently meaning absolutely nothing, the metal is normal and just as bomber .
