If the Catholic Church was pro-weed, breaking someone’s bong would be considered a cardinal sin.

Djongo better have his rosemary handy.

Yo! You try smoothing the AQS with an ice cube yet? Be ideal for a smooth glassy finish on that bong. Well, as far as AQS can be made glassy and smooth.

I'm not really doing AQS work anymore, I told bossman I needed to get paid mo money and also suggested he look at what he is charging , so he gave me an instant 25% raise but then instead of boosting prices/ charging the end-loser which they would have paid cuz its all commercial stuff he decided there wasn't enough $$ in fixing suits SO now they just don't call me and it would appear i have retired

if you have noticed any uptick in my cognitive processes as of late it may be cuz I don't have the AQS exposure and I plan to keep it that way

I think a proper bong repair should include Aquaseal eh, but Djongo wants to use spray-on Plasti-dip.

Tomorrow is 4/20 and we will be celebrating the holiday with skifishbum, so a proper repair is mandatory for the expected industrial scale bong usage.

My AQS and Shoe Goo (thick AQS) have been in the freezer for years now and I just pull it out and in a couple of minutes I can get
started on my next dryer-sheet [pronounced as dryer-sheeeeit] project.

Repair to a Dakine knee pad, its about a 1.5 " rip in the covering fabric of a Dakine knee pad
splooge on some product and tape a piece of plastic bag over the repair

That would have hurt so good thing I was wearing the Dakine product , I noticed some other bumps and bruises right away but i never noticed that rip til later, its fucking hot but I won't mtb without knee & elbow padz

I alwasy recommend doing the repair on the inside IF you can but there it is not bad and no dental floss or bathtub caulking

now put the tube in the freezer in a jar for the next repair

    It is on the inside.

I know pictures are a challenge for sum.

After the main contact patch/area was cured I ran a small and light bead on the inside edge and then the outside edge to ensure a good seal all the way around.

It is not factory pretty but it is solid and fully functional.

A big help was to carve a 2x4 with a depression for the zipper itself to lay in with a nice flange all the way around. I then clamped each end of the suit material to it. The bricks are the weight to hold it all together while the as cures.

Took a couple hours of trimming and fitting to get it ready.

Used 3/4 of a tube along with C240 to make the alteration.

OK, so seeing the zipper pull on the outside I assumed the top pict is the outside of a piece and all you said was you like hufffing tolulene, so now i can see its a dry suit and not a piece of ski gear cuz I can see the metal entry zipper so you put in possibly a piss zipper and its a drysuit

At a glance I thot it was ski gear which i would normaly try to make look pretty but a dry suit I never worried about slopping AQS around, i'm really glad i no longer have to huff that shit

I might with my own suit but I have never dealt with a zipper in commercial suit repair and i did like 500 suits, if a zipper was fucked the suit was fucked,

BTW make sure your main entry zipper is either all the open or all the way closed at all times period, I have had a number of busted zippers where the zip is fuckerd 5" from fully open, so what people do is try to get out of the suit without fully openning the zip and it breaks the core/ fucks the zip which fucks the suit

Yeah, I could have stated that it was a drysuit.

Total cost was $14 for the zipper and $12 for as with accelerator so $26.

No shipping or month plus turn around time for a shop to charge me $100 for same.

Will repeat this for the GF on her drysuit soon.

I have replaced all the seals on various drysuits over the years but this is first relief zippenhousen.

10-4, they make a funnel/trough device. Told her we could make something similar.

Its easy as a guy to take something in stride that can be an ordeal for a woman.

We have a drysuits for appropriate conditions but if i can i will be in a wetsuit.

most everybody up here paddling WW uses a drysuit even in the summer

I liked my Kokotat so much I wished I got it 20 yrs before

BTW if you got latex ankle seals you can retro fit latex booties so having dry feet is pretty nice, gortex booties you have to fix and its a real pain when they leak but latex doesnt leak

Yeah, i have a set of gortex booties ready to go.

Bootie feet are nice but I find I have to use socks inside them for warmth.

Sticking with the latex ankles for now..

At least I can take a leak now with out dropping top.

It helps if one screws the cap back on fully to the AS tube.

an unopenned tube of aqs or skin glue or contact cement will last almost indefinaley but once you pierce the top it starts drying out which means air can get out AND in the tube past the cap which is why they tell you to freeze it and why I suggest the sealed glass jar,

anyone who wants to risk a freezer full of food give er

In a glass jar, isn't there a rubber gasket? Isn't the point that it will leach through plastic?

I was considering fixing a few more things and then giving it away.

Or maybe I could arrange regional AQS repair parties and use up a tube all at once.
