Which resort gets skied out the slowest?

My votes go to La Plagne and Flaine. Huge lift systems with a family-friendly focus which means that it's always easy to find covershot pow straight off the top of a lift. Yee-has rarely go to these places.

Cue the "I know a place but I'm not letting on" crew...

For big resorts in Colorado, Beaver Creek. It's a big mountain and nobody goes into the trees.

Second that. Numerous times last year I was skiing fresh in the trees from 9:00 until 3:00.

Agree that "Flat Flaine" can be pretty good bet. 4 me i found pow lines until Noon on the Saturday after a Thursday PM into Friday AM (1/2 metre total) snowfall. But, long, flat traverses to get to those lines.

Otherwise, I am saying nothing. Keeping local knowledge under my brim.
when not on the snow what else do i do...

I'll concur with the vote for Beaver Creek.

For the smaller areas in CO: Monarch.

Around here, Kimberley holds it's fresh for quite a bit longer than Fernie.....unfortunately its usually only a few inches of fresh as opposed to the foot or so that fernie gets.

I know these things are relative but Aspen Highlands/Snowmass seems to move at a snails pace for a front ranger like myself. Back when Berthoud Pass was still turning the lifts there was plenty of pow to go around but it was hard to tell from some of the kill or be killed attitude getting off the bus. Jackson Hole seems to have lots of late day pow options but it helps to be with someone who has a plan.

When its snowing 3 inches an hour at alta, you're getting freshies all day. Otherwise, it takes experience and careful preperation to get the most out of the day-timing openings of various areas as well as the afternoon keyhole and (shh!) fuck the bird laps. I find all this timing rewarding when you get it right. Also, I do really enjoy the competition for first tracks in the morning. No friends and whatnot...nothing like spinning 6 laps or so then finding a nice cave to (cough) relax in for a bit.
You look like I need a drink.

    SNowmas
    its huge
on a pow day all the hardcores head for Highlands or the fall line of ajax.
Snowmass can hold shots for a day or two and there is plenty there.
plus the way they open the mountain is cool.
you just slowly make your way from one place to the next.

Solitude and Targhee. Alta and Snowmass get honorable mention for holding the good stuff fairly long in the face of often large crowds.

Seems to last quite a long time at Les Contamines and there's some decent enough terrain there. Also, Alpe d'Huez offers tracks for a quite a long time considering the quality of the skiing there and the size of the resort... provided the La Grave crowd doesn't turn up and nick it all
