    Paging Reno/ Tahoe mags

I am going to be attending a wedding on Aug. 7th at the Ice Lakes Lodge. Their logo is Ullr, so it must be a cool place.

    Questions from a Tahoe Jong:

    1. How far is Donner from Reno?

    2. If I get stuck staying in Reno(late night flight), where is the best(read-cheapest non shithole) hotel to stay? I am looking for someplace that has a quick escape plan for the morning. I plan on being up early to get to the lake, and gett outta Reno. Which leads me to question three.

    3. Are there any Kite Surfing schools on Lake Tahoe near Truckee?

    4. I know- google.

    Thanks for the help.

    40-45 Minutes

Reno Hilton - they have an airport shuttle and are about $40/night

They don't teach on Lake Tahoe though. Most schools teach on Washoe Lake just N. of Carson City, NV. You can kite at Kings Beach... but I wouldn't do it as a beginner... too many rocks, boats, and other obstacles etc.

    Thanks for the info-

Not a beginner on the kite, just looking for a place with good gear and a good launch site. Thought a school might be my only option. I'll give those guys a call.

Hot August Nights ends that weekend - - it might be tough to get a room in Reno, but not after the 7th.

You poor bastard!!! Shit- I guess I'll have to tip well then.

    I'll ask for Powpig.

I am assuming they told you to stock up on the Gin and Tonic. If not, consider yourself warned.
