    Ipod music to a computer...

The mac guy at my work just showed me this program. It lets you take the music on your ipod and put it on your computer. I know a few people on here have been asking about this. I won't be able to use it until tomorrow, but it sounds like it works.

or, if you're on windows, you can just search for songs on your ipod like any other drive and copy off whatever you want... maybe not as slick as a dedicated program but it works just fine for me.

A little trick I discovered w/ the ipod is that the songs are all there in one of the directories but they are hidden. If you click the ipod folder and then right click and check "show hidden files" -- there are all your individual song files.

I take those and drag and drop them to an external hard drive to back 'em up. I don't want to have to re-rip all that shit. Unfortunately, I'm finding there are about 3 or 4 cd's I have to re-rip b/c I'm getting the static noise crap from scratches. I have not been very gentle w/ my CDs. So far my SkipDr has removed a lot of them, but apparently these few CDs need a few more runs through the Skip Dr.
