Though I have a couple pair that have gone multiple seasons, the fact is, it's hard for me to test multi-year durability on certain products since I get them shipped for free to me every year. The only things I'm currently engaged in multiyear durability tests are my HMG packs, Hestra Gloves, a couple pair of Salomon boots and hardware. So I say this as not someone that's spewing bullshit to sell things, that quote came from the people that are selling them and seeing their return rate in the wild.
That being said, I haven't had a floppy riser issue, or even heard of one, until now. The only issue I've heard reported here and there is brake releases while touring. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry, lots of Salomon employees comb these pages seeing what people are saying, so if it is a widespread issue, then I'm sure they know about it and are working on it if it seems like a widespread issue.
