I hope Wirth mellows out a couple of notches and gets a bit more humble. He's done some cool stuff, and he's clearly strong, but he claims a bit too much sometimes. Like when he skied all the 13ers in the Elks, he claimed a bunch of firsts that definitely aren't- we skied them 10+ years ago but even then we never even considered we were first since most things around here were skied by some dude in leather boots and Tua skis in 1988 or something.

Yes, its great to follow along. I especially like the kerouacian aspect of it. Rolling around north america by ,relatively, simple means visiting and shredding with different friends. It never gets old. Adventure within an adventure

The remaining lines are straight up burly, dangerous, and hard AF. It'll be interesting to see how it goes. Best of luck!

Yeah, I’d watch more than fifty episodes.

His ego is definitely a thing. As far as the video I definitely liked the way he went into the maps in the beginning. I got a better idea of how and what it took to get there with my limited knowledge of Rogers Pass. And while it seemed to be driven by the ego thing, i still enjoyed (or found useful for comparison) the counting of the vertical climbed and still needing to be climbed as he went along.

With the massive increase in backcountry skiers. I think it’s a huge community service for someone as well known and watched as Alka to show episodes where the crew backs off the objective. Personally my number one criteria for backcountry ski partners is are they willing to turn around when the mountain tells you to. Summit/pow fever is real. It’s so important to be able to pull the plug. And it’s so rare for an athlete to publish media that doesn’t end in glory. It’s actual role model stuff. As well as not listening to jam bands. Teach the children well.

There's a lot to be said for a good split open and melt.

You've obviously never boofed a Nyquill chicken while listening to the 78 Golden Hall Dead set.

After carb loading (stout), popping a couple of caps, and shouldering a multi day pack at the trailhead, I really wanna hear dance or space music. The worse is getting an orchestral death march song in my head like “exodus (main theme).”

I like Wirth. He's young, insanely strong, motivated, and talented. It's a totally different approach and that's ok. Huge pushes day after day with an ultra athlete mindset. Reminds me of a young Kilian Jornet. Perhaps reckless, but most of the best mountaineers in history pushed past the line. Just hope he can stay safe long enough to grow wise. Will be very fun to watch him progress.

That said, I also love Cody and have the utmost respect for his approach to the mountains. It's what I hope to replicate in my own adventures. It doesn't have to be one or the other, just two insanely talented individuals doing awesome things in the mountains.

I was kinda pushing onn being rad and skiing rad shit for a bit. Couple close calls, and a tumble down a ledgy cliff breaking my hands ribs severing my thumb almost off w a whippit. Solo 5 hrs in..Kinda backed off after that. Although almost died in Maine slideslipping 2k of beyond frozen porcelain.

Old now. Ski groomers in the sun, Nordic, pow. No complaints.

Young men often take themselves and their recreating extremely seriously.
