My favorite thing about Moment as a company is just how much they put back into the product. I’ve been watching through the years and it seems like they are constantly buying better machinery, improving processes, and changing materials always with the intention of making a higher quality product and it really shows through their skis. I have been personally very impressed with their direction as a company and the end product. Also, I just absolutely dig that they were open minded enough to see the need for and, to implement a way to properly add some weight back in to the Wildcats, that attn to detail and the pulse of what skiers really want (which they obviously very much are) is very very cool.
Fear, Doubt, Disbelief, you have to let it all go. Free your mind!
The 194 commander is hilarious, literal train tracks.
It might be the most demanding wide ski I have ever been on though, with the forward’ish mount, a ton of camber and a really stiff tail it doesn’t accept anything other than perfect technique.
Really fun ski, all you mammoth boys should get a pair.

Awesome. Tell me about the Commander 124s... taking them out after this big storm wraps.

Completely agree. Got the new 108s in a 194 specifically for mammoth, and they are perfect for that open steep terrain at the top. Anyone around 6 foot 170 that has terrain like that should consider the longer length.
Id get a pair of 118s too if i didnt already have some Wrenegade 114 189cm. Those skis are fucking dialed.
Got into some full throttle resort hard pack, tree run leftovers, and soft bumps on the DW for the first time today. Pretty rad ski. As a long time Bibby and wildcat lover, the DW feels like a light 112 WC that rages oddly hard on firm snow. Really fun. Nimble fucker.
Been touring on the DWT for many weeks now and realized how much i like the idea of having a resort setup clone of one my BC setups. It was intuitive on those first BC days, and I could tell i liked it. But those turns matter so much i want them to be juicy, and having a heavier resort clone is kind of amazing for getting really comfy on a ski for when you do venture out.
Current moment quiver - all 190s.

JONG question -
there's a pair of wildcat tour 108's locally here, mounted once for shifts at the forward mount point - thinking of picking them up to try them out as a 50/50 ski. i'm light weight (150lbs) and not super aggressive, but i've always been curious about that ski. do you think it's worth trying?
Second this. I don't get how people ski tour skis for 50/50. I had Bibby Tour and regular Bibby and difference was more than notable. For now I decided that my strategy will be to drop weight by choosing lightweight bindings rather than dropping weight from skis. Moreover, touring skis (moment touring skis also) are more fragile, chip easier, etc. From what I observed, they can be trashed much faster.
word. appreciate the input. for pure touring, i have the same quiver slot already filled by my CD104L's, so this would be redundant unless it was a 50/50 ski
i thought i could get away with the tour layup because i weigh nothing and don't ski 90mph or do backflips (at least not on purpose) but it sounds like that's still probably not the case, eh?
I skied last season on WC 108 tours with shifts as a 50/50 setup and I thought they were great. I picked up some DWs this season and I do prefer them in the resort over my WCs, but I don’t hesitate to ski the WCs if I anticipate some side country laps that day.
I also don’t ski 90mph or do backflips. My general feeling about that tour layup is that it wears my legs out quicker when the snow is crappy. But I was more than happy to ski them every day.
I’ll bite on this... I have Wren 114’s and love them. I don’t think it’s a demanding ski, surprisingly easy but powerful. I’m on the 189cm at 160lbs and I’ve wondered about a Commander as another take on the same style.
What do you notice between the two? Everyone I’ve chatted with at moment has sworn up and down that I shouldn’t try the 194cm but I worry the 188 won’t work either.
They’re almost opposites in that the w114 is slarvy, heavier and damp while the c118 is strong on edge, feels light on your feet has a powerful flex. Both skis allow you to ski fast and powerfully, but through different avenues. The c118 has an even higher top end than the w114 if you can hang on, you really notice how stable they are on groomers, no tip flap and just unrelenting confidence and grip.
The wren is powerful and damp, but has more of a surfy slower moving style if that makes sense, you know what I mean.
The commander on the other hand is much more traditional feeling as in you have to push hard forward and down deliberately into the ski. If you get backseat the ski just goes straight because the sidecut is huge and the tail is very stiff and long which can be kind of terrifying in the wrong spot. They can slarve and release from a turn, but it requires a lot more focus and precision than the wren. This is all in variable conditions by the way, in fresh pow they are sweet, I bet they’d be a hoot in alaska.
I actually think the 188 would be really fun and much more usable in all kinds of conditions compared to the 194 atleast for me at 6,1 170lbs.
Thanks, I’ll keep my eye one these. Someone here reached out to me with a pair. Looking to go that route first.

Just put New 2021 Wildcats up in Gear Swap. 184 cm. Pivot 15's.
Fully agree on the train tracks. Thing rages through everything. Such a good chop ski. I was on the 188 / 118 commander and i totally agree - it requires your full attention at all times. It kicked my ass on a few occasions. The tail is a monster. But once you understand those traits and know how you have to ski when you take it out, its alll goood.
Decided Ill be going with a standard WC108 190 with maybe a Cast system. Have a 188 PB&J and a 190 Bibby already with Pivots
Is there a chance to find a Wildcat 184cm discounted in a month or so on powder7 / Evo / Skiburger?. We are already mid-season and don't want to pay full price now.
