I thought I would post a quiver pic just because. The two on the right are the old man's 178 DW and the Lady's sticks. To the above poster the DW > Wildcat 108 on groomers. I haven't been on a wildcat 101 or PB&J.
I have a very similar quiver and the DW holds an edge better and feels (slightly) more stable at speed. Neither are really carvers, but I don't hesitate to ski either in firmer (for Tahoe) conditions. Kinda depends on where each ski fits in the quiver.

Found out I'm relocating to SLC for work (stoked) after living in a place where I could only get away to ski maybe 2x a year. I'm starting from scratch trying to build a two ski quiver for resort and medium-ish tours. Would love to hear what the resident moment-heads think.

    Me: 28 yrs old, 5'10 165lbs
Playful skier, I like to pop and spin and sometimes land switch (recovering park rat). Like to ski off-piste and not really too concerned with groomer performance.

    Thinking:
Wildcat 184 w/ Look Pivot for resort
Wildcat Tour 108 (also 184) w/ Fritschi Techton (or Vipec?) for all purpose touring ski

What do you guys think? Do those widths/heights sound right? I thought about maybe switching the widths for the wider touring ski and the 108 for inbounds? After reading this thread I'm also increasingly interested in the DW/DWT. Though I've skied out west plenty, I've never skied Utah so I'm unsure of exactly what the best tools for the snow are.

Thanks! Tons of good info in this thread btw

I predict consensus will be DWT with Cast.

Honestly would be really stoked on this setup and it has crossed my mind. Cast feels like a little overkill with my weight tho, and I certainly don't spin as much when I'm out in the BC. Still would be a lot of fun and I love the idea of two ski quiver both w/ cast to bomb in and out of bounds.

My thinking would be regular DW inbounds and Wildcat tour. The DW is awesome in everything. The Wildcat tour can be more of a 50/50 ski and here in they wasatch hopefully your going to be touring on a lot of pow. However as you can see from my quiver Pic I think touring on a 193 ghost train with shifts is reasonable so take my advice as the free internet kind...

    190 Wildcat with Cast, plus...

184 Wildcat 108 Tour with lighter touring bindings (VOYAGER 14!!, ATK, Helio, Alpinist, MTN). Or Deathwish Tour with similar bindings.

Deathwish is a great ski, but I would try before you buy as it feels pretty different from any other ski that I've tried. (I skied my slightly-softer 2017 pair today.) But I've never heard anyone not rave about the Bibby/Wildcat.

(I think 666 will string me up after reading that...)

190 Deathwish for inbounds, there is no better one ski quiver for Utah imo. Maybe put cast on them if you reallllyyyy think you want to tour on them. Then I would say Wildcat Tour 108 with maybe shifts if you plan to ski them inbounds a lot or the new voyager if you want a more dedicated BC rig.

Kinda similar to this suggestion, I'd go reg WC 108 for resort and WC tour with tectons for touring and resort pow. If you were more concerned about groomers I'd say DW over WC108 but that nots the case so go full wildcat!

Is that 666 in the Deathwish 2020 video? Looks like his dope style.

So today was the maiden voyage on the voyagers mounted on wildcat tours. Luckily no core shots! @optcis sorry to hear about your gash. Quick take (only skied one lap) review of the bindings and skis:

WCT 190: Mounted +2 Wow! The WC tour punches above its weight. I had been on OG Bibbys, and the first gen regular wildcat with the semi cap and in the soft snow today and chewed up runouts I didn't know the difference and on the way up I sure did.

Voyagers: This is my first ATK product. The ramp angle works for me (I'm normally super sensitive to high deltas) and I love the connection between me and the ski, not that weird floating feeling on old school Dynafits. The risers and super easy to use. I had no issues with ice, and I am a fan thus far!

Just skied my fat cats for the first time at Solitude (highly regret my friend wanting to ski with me and drawing me away from Alta). Not much open so conditions quickly became choppy. The fat cats just blasted right through everything. I was having so much fun just pointing them that I don't even know how they turn.... so far so good. On another note, I've gotten a few days on the WC 101s so far this season and am pretty happy with their stability over chop as well. So far my foray into Moment skis has been successful... now hoping my DD touring setup breaks so I can get some DWTs..

Right!? I'm sort of annoyed that no one had told me to get on this ski before. I've been touring on them about half my days so far this year, and they're so friggin fun. They feel like they bring all the silly pow ski stupidity in tight terrain that I loved about the K2 Catamaran while being light enough to tour on and way, way more versatile at higher speeds. I can't help imagining what a tour layup Ghost Train would feel like though....

Just ordered one of the last two WC 108's in the 190s because I couldnt justify a full grown Wildcat or a Deathwish in the quiver with a Custom Protest and Rustler 11. Plus being in CO, I barely use those skis enough as it is. I love the idea of the Deathwish though and really want to try one.

Flash review of the Deathwish... believe the hype.

After an afternoon of ripping around on some wind-affected, blown-in, and otherwise decent PNWet snow; I really like these skis. I'm a long-time Moment slut, having owned the Bibbys, and currently own a set of Tahoes, Exit Worlds, and Underworlds. I love how Moments feel and ski. (And for those of you playing along at home, the Exit World is basically a Bibby Tour, which you know as the Wildcat. The Underworld was a skinny Deathwish Tour at 101(?) underfoot).

I wanted a playful ski, capable of fun and adaptable to variable conditions during storms or skiing small accumulations. In short, I wanted a better Salomon Rocker2 108. The Deathwish is it. Quick edge-to-edge, a lay-up that has enough backbone to be driven while maintaining some flex and pop; it's quite the surprise.

I'm stoked on it. I can't wait to get more turns on it.

Saw your post on the ON3P thread on the WD108. Thoughts on DW vs WD108 as a better Rocker2 108 replacement in the PNW?

    Moment Skis Discussion

Question re the Wildcat Tour 108....I’m looking for a do-everything bc ski, around 108 waist to mount with Salomon MTNs (no resort).

Want something easy, playful, fun, to ski centered on, with a -6cm to -6.5cm mount. Narrowed to 183cm Line Vision 108, 180cm Armada Tracer 108 (@ +2cm) or the Moment WC 108 Tour.

Question? Why does the Blister Guide show the length of the 184cm Wildcat Tour to be 180.5cm tip-to-tail, but the regular Wildcat 108 measures 181.8cm tip-to-tail? Just wondering? Why the diff?

Difference comes from the tail shaped for skin clips. Exact same ski shape other than that

I agree with this. Although Tectons are fine too, they aren’t that much heavier.

Thanks everyone for the awesome suggestions!

Leaning towards WCT 108 for touring just bc it sounds a little more versatile. Would love to hear more peoples thoughts on the Voyager 14. I've always been a little irrationally afraid of full pin bindings (why I was thinking techton bc of the alpine heel) but this thing looks burly as hell.

You guys have convinced me that the only way to settle the resort ski is a demo day showdown between the Wildcat and DW.

The voyager skis better than any other pin binding I've been on. I also have 2 pairs of shifts that I have toured a lot in. For me it depends on the use. The voyager can rip, and I won't ski inbounds without a din heel piece.

Thanks for this. I bought a pair of Voyagers without being totally sure what ski I wanted to mount them on vs. the shifts they may displace.

I think your idea that any ski I want to use more than incidentally in-bounds should get the shifts makes sense. WCT108 + voyagers happening.
