It took about half a run to synch with these and they freaking rail! Was skiing with my kids so lots of stop / go on blue runs. Snow was hardpack with a little squall coming in so nice and chalky. So pumped, can’t wait to get more time on them. center mounted meridians is mind blowing. I have mine at -5rec and could never imagine moving them to center. Honestly taking away everything that’s good about them at that point. They’re not symmetrical and don’t see anything that would be improved by moving them that far forward. Maybe -3 at most. But idk. I’m a rec guy on those for sure

I know this is repeating the obvious, but…man, Moment builds durable skis. I’m still on 2013 pb&j’s as my daily driver. It’s majorly delaminating now but the sides and bases are still hanging in there. The deathwish 104 sounds like the perfect replacement for the few weaknesses in the PB&j. I appreciate all the feedback in this thread.

188cm Countach 110 (mounted plus 2 with Strive 16) quick review as compared to 190cm DW 112 (mounted plus 2 with Strive 16)...(big guy, 47yrs old, 6'2"@ 215lb who uses DW112 99% of days on skis since they were originally released)

The Countach has an immediate similar feel but felt a tad heavier. Carving on groomers was amazing...big long radius turns were a dream. Off trail - (mainly some steep moguls at Telluride with some soft snow on the edge) they felt a tad less playful than the triple camber of the DW112. However, the Countach 110 absorbed the bumps a bit better as its a bit better suited as a big mountain charger.

For my skiing, I still like the DW112 as its a tad more lively, easy to whip around in tight spots etc.

I will do some more testing this weekend on firmer snow under some high pressure in California.

I have 6 days on my Countach 110. I ski the same sizes as Skier666. I also mount my Countach, DW, and WC in all widths plus 2. I agree with everything above. For years 99 percent of my skiing on was on the DW 112. I still believe that to be the best one ski quiver for me. As a quiver ski CT110, WC118, and GT I think I'm going to keep the Countach as the low tide ski for the next 2 seasons. It's more rewarding for me on the groomers, offers more charge for cut up snow. It's definitely more work and in bumps and trees for me. All of these differences are slight. The Deathwish and Countach are both exceptional skis. I love them both, just like my dogs. Each has little differences.

Man as a long-time WC guy (116 and 108), all this Deathwish talk has me really wanting to try a pair of 112 or 104 - doesn't matter which. Just need to see what the hype is all about.

Well if you love yourself a Wildcat I bet you'll love yourself a Deathwish!

Nice to hear that I'm not totally off the rocker (get it?)

194 CTs on OTL. They rip everywhere except in places where there Bananas, Meridians, Jeffreys like to pivot and excel. They literally talk to you and tell you to peg a spot in the distance and accelerate out of those pivoty
situations. But I'm old and get scared so I just get in the backseat and get bucked all over the place. lol

Curious why the two of you mount the DW at +2. Do you not miss the float on deeper days?

I've found no issue on float but I've also been at plus 2 for awhile and now I don't even think about it.

Years ago I messed up a mount on a pair of DW so moved forward instead of the alternative. Gives the deathwish a little bit more versatility especially when spinning skis around to see your kids behind you or tight jump turns in a chute etc.

Anyone willing to sell their 190 DW or their 190 Wildcat 108?

I meant boot center @ recommended mount point, where the biggest center triangle is on the sidewall…not boot center to true chord center if that’s still a term. With demo bindings I’ll be able to play with where it seems best. Seemed awesome at recommended.

No talk of the special release?: https://www.momentskis.com/products/the-og-186

From the description, it’s not for me, but it looks cool.

I think I just have to get some more miles on them. Probably doesn’t help that I’m coming directly from a V-Werks Katana with a mount point that is a mile more rearward than the DW. Seems like a totally different technique.

Meh, it would have never occurred to me to move the DW mount point forward. I think it works great on the line.

    Moment Skis Discussion

Wanted to post in here before the main gear swap page.

Tried the Meridian, but it made me miss my Wildcat 108. Have 3 days on these. Mounted for a 296 BSL on the line. Loved their character, but I need more backbone for what I was using them as. I’d trade for a Deathwish 190 or a Wildcat 108 in good shape. Only a cosmetic scratch on the base. If no trade, then PM me some offers.

How are folks sizing up their Ghost Trains? Guys on the site chat mentioned there might be a chance of a restock.

I tried searching back in this thread and seems like most are on 194s but didn't see much of a discussion on it?

5'11" 190 lbs inbounds skier the NW. Longest I've gone is 188, and Moment says 186 across the board for my height. No need to overthink this and go 186?

Super happy with my 194. Very glad I didn’t size down. I’m 6’0 185. I was worried they were going to feel like too much ski but I was very pleasantly surprised they didn’t feel like too much. I also ski a 190 wildcat as well.

I ski 190 DW and WC series or 188 Countach. 194 Ghost Trains for me. I mount plus 2 and am 6 feet 165 pounds. I've never wanted the GT to be shorter. I go up a size based on the websites recommended.

If ski companies didn't make new skis every year I wouldn't have to get new skis every year.
