Yeah I should have added I'm looking at the 182 for me at 5'9" 175. I would go 188 if I were somewhere else with more open terrain.

My main mountain is Stevens Pass, which isn't a big mountain that has long open lines. The steep terrain tends to be short and some of it is pretty tight terrain (I really enjoy this). Across the Moment line of skis I feel like the Countach seems best for this application. The -8 mount gives me a good amount of tip to lean into and free up the tail to pivot in the tight steep terrain or just open it up on some of the more open steeps. Yet, it’s not too far back to make it overly directional/business like.
wait till July when the countach 104 drops for comparisons. Thats going to be extremely popular as a daily driver.

For what I wanted it to be I think the 194 CT would have been a better choice. 6'1 220.

I personally think the CT isn't a DD unless you are having a crazy snow year it can be a bit spooky on firm firm.

If I didn't already have my DW 104 I would be looking at snagging the Countach 104 when it comes out. The DW 104 is such an awesome ski and doesn't have me really yearning for anything else for that width of a ski.

It really seems like the feedback on the CT is just meh. Its alright, but nothing to have people clambering to jump on it.

ya there is going to be cross over between the 2 for sure. As mentioned below the 110 isn’t the best daily unless you’re getting a decent amount of snow. That’s where the 104 is going to shine. It’s not going to need tons of snow which is why it will be a popular daily driver for a lot of folks.

Honestly even though there is cross over the wish 104 and ct 104 would be a great daily combo. Wish for firm and ct for softer days.

For me personally, if the CT was 100g heavier it would have really tickled my fancy. It’s much more fun that directional chargers but also lacks the backbone. Tweener ski that doesn’t accomplish any mission the best.

I concur with this assessment. I liked it well enough, I just wished it had a bit more "oomph." I have a 182 that I'll probably put up in GS at some point.

I don’t think the CT is a dd either but anything from softish to powder (<8”) it’s what I’m grabbing. I mean, I went from skiing open bowls with wind blown snow (it really shines here for me), well spaced trees, to skiing with the wife and kiddo in the same day (slow). It’s pretty versatile in that regard. Like I said earlier, I don’t like it in tight trees. I’m grabbing the DW104 this summer and probably selling my 181 Masterblasters.

I'd be interested in that 182 possibly. Yeah I really want to get my hands on a Commander 108 in 182 length to have something with more oomph. That or I've also been considering the ON3P Wren.

Man, the last few comments haven't solidified my desire for the CT as a DD. Could it be my "meh" feeling about my Enforcer 110 would just carry over? If it is powder or soft, I'm on the Banana or Meridian. That pretty much leaves a need for an early season snowmaking and an, hasn't snowed in a while, ski. Commander 102?

I think it depends on where you ski the most. The CT doesn’t need to have powder, but it’ll favor softer snow for sure. Just small refreshes make a difference on groomers and I really enjoyed it for that use case. And if it hasn’t snowed 10 days-2 weeks, you don’t really want a 110 ski anyways imo. My weird take/opinion is that it skis narrower on groomers and pretty much how it should in powder, although my sample size for the latter is somewhat small.

I think you need to get on my 108 after this cycle is passed to help your decision

Stoked to get out on the Meridian Tours (187) I picked up recently, it'll be my first foray into the world of full rocker. A buddy and I have been skiing the DWT (184), and he picked up the Meridian Tours at the mid season release and they've become his favorite ski.

I've always been a 1 ski quiver type guy so my biggest concern is developing paralysis by analysis, and never really knowing which ski to grab since they are both really versatile and daily workhorse touring skis.

my favorite ski is the Meridian. Second favorite dw 104. I’ve been going back and forth between the two touring versions as a one ski touring set up.

knowing how it skis and the conditions it hates I just can’t picture using the meridian tour as my only set up. There’s just too many conditions the meridians are not suited for. The dwt 104 gives up some playfulness like my regular 104 does compared to the meridian, but it gains far more usability across wider conditions.

anything Icy or firm im wishing I was on something other than my meridians where as my 104 wish is pretty happy anywhere on anything.

I've chatted with a few people who have been on almost all of the Moment touring skis and your sentiment was echoed. If you are going for a single touring ski it would be the DWT 104. It is a utility knife. Especially if you start considering going on longer adventures where you may be traversing icy no fall zones, getting into steep chalky chutes, etc. I'd take the added control and edge grip of the DWT 104 every day.

With that being said, I think its hard to have a single touring set up just like its hard to have a single resort ski. I'd have a designated do it all ski like the DWT 104 or something even lighter for longer adventures and then something like a DWT, Meridian Tour, or WCT for mid winter, bigger snow falls, or just better soft snow performance...just another excuse to have more skis at least.

That's kinda where I've fallen on it. The plan at present is DWT for the ends of the spectrum. The really firm and icy or potentially sketchy and unknown + the really fresh and deep over 8" days.

And use the meridian tour for everything that isn't those. Breakable crust, smaller pow days etc.

I have to travel to ski. So I really need to choose one or the other unfortunately.

Been trying out the dwt as my do it all touring ski and so far no complaints except maybe it does it all too well and leaves the rest of my skis sad and unloved

This is my experience as well. Haven't touched another touring ski in 4 seasons. That changes tomorrow when I take the Meridian Tour out. But 1000% the DWT made my other touring sticks obsolete

Spoke w Moment people and got the DW 112 in 179 and they've given a generally pretty shady season here in Japan some of its best days. Just had a killer weekend getting sun-roasted and blasting across soft shlowder chop....nimble enough to pop off just about anything but stable enough to hang on and straight line through when necessary. So much funk in that shape, and I love that it's not all just there on the surface like the Bent 100s etc, but something with some character....what a vibe. At least 2 pairs of skis in the cupboard looking threatened.
