What are the chances of a Jaguar Shark re-issue?!
I had a used set here in 182 & foolishly sold em. Have never been able to replicate that smooth feel…. Anything in the current lineup come close?
The skis made no sense to me, 116 underfoot - but worked out East.
Today was a big win. Picked these up for $200. One mount and in great shape!
Also has the slayer sidewall.

Yea. Those are the daily drivers. 2014/2015 PBJs. On the hunt for a pair of 18s or earlier PBJs before the sidewalls went capped and they lost some of the stiffness and weight.
Getting used to the death wishes - they are something different when skiing mashed potatoes.

Wrapping up first season on Moments. Originally bought a pair of Wildcats on closeout last summer. Then read so much hype about the Deathwish's bought a pair in the fall.
The WC is to much ski for my local area and the snow we had this year. Short fall lines and lots of tight trees here. It is a great ski but really wants to charge. The DW is perfection. Super quick turning (more so than the sidecut would suggest), way more stable than a typical twin tip, enough float and really good on the solid hardpack we had a lot of this year. They continue to kick ass in the end of the season slush and icy bumps.
I'm going to end up with 2 days on the WCs and 30ish on the DWs. No noticeable wear on the DWs on what was a very thin snow year in this area.
Also got the 12 year old a pair of Carsons. He loved them, way more ski that the Mantra Jrs he was on the previous season. he's looking at another pair next season, or maybe a PBJ if he grows a bunch.
Wife seems convinced and might be ready to give up her ancient Line Pandoras next season.
Anyone have thoughts on a Commander Tour mounted with Shifts as a 50/50 ski? I am looking for a one ski quiver travel setup -- Commander 108 would probably be my first preference, but I can't find 'em anywhere in a 188.
Have you skied the commanders?
No way would I ever recommend a C108 with Shifts as a 50/50 ski if you actually mean 50/50. If you mean 90 inbounds / 10 out -- maybe. The C108 is north of 2300g per ski in 188.

If its anything like the regular commander, the tour going to be too light and stiff to dampen anything out that is choppy/manky when skiing in the resort.
I hate the idea of 50/50 setups; having done it myself, and seeing 4-5 friends go down that road and realize how many compromises you're making everywhere. With that said, I was pretty impressed with how versatile the Bibby Tour is - but it still pales in comparison to the Wildcat 101 or Black Ops 118 in terms of how well it can charge in variable snow.
My advice:
Figure out where and how you want to tour; how much vert, how long will you be out for, length, float, types of tours you're fixing to do and how hard you really want to charge in the BC (Also having been rescued in the back country with a broken leg- it sucks so maybe you dont need to charge while touring). Get a used setup for whatever that is. Buy a dedicated resort by getting a Supernatural, Commander or some other chargy in bounds ski that you can turn up to 11.

I've been there on the 50/50 travel ski before. I'm lucky enough that I no longer need to. Too much of a compromise IMO. I agree with others above. I'd much rather take a full weight ski out of bounds than ski tech fittings and a tour ski in bounds especially if I were on the heavier side. I've owned 2 pairs of shifts before and agree with others. That there are options better at going up or down.
All of that being said if I only skied a full weight moment on a shift I would be much happier than only having a tour core on a shift.
Hey Pete, I'm 210 and use the 188 CMD 108 for resort and some slack country (lift assisted), with a P15 and CAST. For my (realistically 80/20) use, it works well. Bit of a suffer fest on the ups (but the lifts help, and the downs never suck. Haven't skied the Tour version, but at my weight, I wouldn't want my resort ski to be less damp than the regular CMD. FWIW, I may dumpster dive this Summer, and finally get a dedicated touring rig. Whatever you decide, enjoy!
I mean technically they don't advertise, but If you ask nicely and know the secret handshake...
