    TGR's Summer Climbing Thread

Post your climbing pics (alpine, sport, trad, big walls, bouldering, whatever) here. According to Xover, it's ok to be climbing now, so let's see whatcha got.

Spent last weekend in Maple Canyon, clipping bolts and hanging around.

Gramps drinking beer and pointing, "then I................"

Gramps belaying Mrs. Trackhead after drinking some beverages. It's ok, they are Utah beers.

A blurry photo of the Peanut Gallery. Notice another beer in Gramps' hand.

Is that all this guy does is drink?

Trackhead belaying Gramps. Beer? Check. Comfy chair? Check. Brake hand on rope? Check.

Comfy belay chair is always important.

    Fat bolts and fat routes.

    And my bored dog.

    Lesson number one.

NEVER hike up in plastics. Hence the pain train look of this photo.

Great stuff from Maple; that's got to be some of the coolest rock around.

We're just back from southern Utah, these pix are from Pine Creek Canyon in Zion, from Friday, 7/15 (my birthday!)...the day before the Bryce Half Marathon.

Looking back, canyoneering the day before a 13.1 mile run isn't the greatest idea, but it sure was fun...

100' free rappel at the end of the canyon; very cool

Got a PR at the Bryce Half, so it all worked out...

    RB,

I did Pinecreek a couple years ago and swam the entire thing. How much swimming did you encounter?

We debated about bringing wetsuits before heading in, and decided not to bring them.

The canyon was quite wet, more than usual for this time of the year, with lots of swimming in dark and skanky water, but factoring in the pain of carrying wetsuits on the hot and exposed hike out, vs. the possibility of being very cold and wet for two hours, we went with the "cold and wet" option...

And yes, it was cold and wet.

    some coming up soon

maybe this will be motivation enough for Owens to get "us" a Forum of our own; kinda sad and ironic that we don't have one yet, if ya ask me, seeing how in tgr's very first catalog there some climbing stoke but no bike stoke what-so-ever

They will continue to suck until we get pics of the hottie climbing Betty's in their sports bras sporting six packs. Until then, they will suck.

Fixed ropes and Jumars. The only way to do it.

Here are some spring bouldering shots from Moab.

And, some shots of a buddy on the big stone, a couple years ago.
