There was a lot of frozen lava flow across the divide at WP today. Sticking to trees and north aspects helped.

Basalt rumors appeared to be greatly exaggerated. I was there afternoon only. Ski on to the lift after 1:30. The untracked trees, my skill let me down, but I think it was quite skiable if you could release your tails unlike me. Definitely heavier than what I’m used to.

The bumps were great, it became the highlight for me. Most of the groomers, like the big thoroughfares, got bumped out and they were soft with a good flow. I imagine they chop them as I write this oh well. So fun!

    Clouds hung around.

Yeah I imagine you had to be way in the back seat. I've rode a bunch in the PNW so I imagine it wouldn't have felt too foreign. Glad you guys got out, I'm missing today too due to obligations so hopefully up this week

Good cell reception at the clusterfuck, they must have put in a tower?

Snow is pretty good (posting from the Corona lodge).

Maybe new, maybe more strength in old areas? I’ve definitely noticed more strength I. The same areas anyway. I’ve taken lots of calls on the mountain. I decided to nerd out and make edit: draw from memory a map of my experiences. Green = reliable voice SMS and some data; yellow = maybe voice and SMS, red = no.

On second thought, maybe this is just a map of where I skied.

Also on weekdays itll ring all the time so I know where it’s getting signal.

Eldora has been great slushy fun the past couple of days. My six-year old son is progressing such that he’s going to be doing fully parallel turns on the blues just in time for the end of the season.

Hey I’m not hiding it, I just didn’t disclose that the batch of roux I used for that gumbo took me about 7 tries over half as many days to get right and i ran out. No promises on gumbo but I can def bring something with some bayou flare.

So do we do fake closed-er-fuck on the 14th anyway or move it to the 21st? Both?

I will probably be there both weekends.

Sweet!!! More chances for me to get you that beer I owe ya too. 40” I dunno but the coverage is overall pretty darn good. The trees are still holding up well.

Yesterday (today about the same) from IP where it usually gets thin:

Hoping I can make some turns with you kooks before the season is done. Both closing days are possible, think the second one is more likely

Bumping this up. Trying to see which day is better to set for the grilling. Fake closing 14th or Real Closing 21st? (You say it like Real Madrid.) Anybody else got a preference 21st v 14th? HawkGT’s account is f’d at the moment but he said he could do either day.

I'm gonna be there this Saturday with my kiddo.

I am a maybe for either day, but likely will be at WP for fake closing day and more likely be able to make real closing (with my daughter).
