Cool I got a new big squish bike! (pics) [updated bitches!]

    [anticipatory placeholder]

    edit: Now with pics!

Stock 2005 ASX except for Hayes Mag brakes F & R, Evil DRS chainguide (with stock Truvativ bashguard for now,) SRAM X.7 shifters, X.9 rear derailleur, Lizard Skin lock-ons and Easton Flatboy pedals. Just about everything is black.

Initial midnight neighborhood test ride indicates it is... not light.

Light is sooo last year. If everything is going black, what's up with the white tie wrap on the fork holding the brake line? Bad form dude...

Looks good though. Have you considered any anodized parts, maybe some purple bar ends?

Nice rig phUnk. Heed Mr. AG's advice.

Oh, and ditch the 32 (presumably) ring and swap it for a 38 or 40 when you put the Evil guide on. Enjoy the ride, and welcome to the club.

I did the Cheshire Cat thing last night, riding around my street at 1AM, dark clothes, black bike, no front porch light and no streetlights. All you could see was 1 biiiiig friggin' smile -->

I've got the Evil guard and will probably end up with that and a bigger chainring soon. There's an uh-oh, though: One of the bearings by the swing-link is sticking out 1 or 2 millimeters. I took the shock off, but couldn't get that sucker to press all the way in properly. That's how it came from Yeti, too.

Bag: Crest is on. Maybe not with Blackie here, but I'm definitely down to ride. The Crest is pretty long for a shakedown ride, especially (the way I build bikes) when you piss off all your friends if your ride blows up halfway in.

2nd test ride report: Super tits!

edit: and I've already gotten bloodied by my pedals. The spilling of blood is the only true way to forge a tight bond with a new bike.

Yeah, I landed, slipped a pedal, smashed my nuts on the toptube and just about ran that one of my own feet over with my rear tire.

    Sound familiar?

So does the dog come standard, or was that an accessory?

nice job phunky! can't wait to get the full as-x posse out on the trail together. i think there are 5? Utards with em...me, phunk, frizzo, mr. altagirl, and flykdog. am I forgetting anyone? wow we are sooo cool. only thing I really don't like about the AS-X is the high standover height. I've already got a few shoe scuffs on my top tube from mounting/dismounting the bike Just hoping that doesn't become an issue doing stuff like stunts...yeesh. otherwise, once I get a ride in without a chain breaking, I'm sure I'll love it. Can't wait for next week...

The dog was extra, and she's faster than you are.

Particle: Take that tank over to go-rizzle and have them check the drivetrain out.
