VinoK showed what he's got today.
Had to make up for yesterday I guess.
How about his bike mechanic taking off that device on the fly?
The whole TDF operation is simply surreal.

Ski, Bike, Climb.
Resistence is futile.
another solid day in the saddle for team Disco, keeping LA safe and setting tempo up the climbs. Great break away by Vino, but he is still down serious time to LA. nothing spectacular today, just more spirit crushing, leg ripping, ruthless effeciency by LA and Team Disco.....i hope Rasmussen has enough left after these last 2 days to continue to challange Lance....b/c looks like all the other pre-race "rivals" to LA are done.
i agree it was good to see Team Disco and LA riding strong. i was wondering if they may have burned themselves yesterday with their effort. but it looks like they are right on target. after tomorrow, the next couple of stages should be interesting... with some mtn. top finishes.
One of my buds rode the TDF for Schwinn/Wheatties many years ago. He said it was the hardest thing he did in his whole life.
On a sad note, I ran into him skiing last season and he told me that he hadn't ridden a bike since retiring from racing. Said that it turned into a job and lost all appeal.
I was like that after I stopped being a manwhore. I remember an interview with Lance and he commented on his post race life and said he wouldn't gain 40lbs like Lemond did and he meant it as a dig against Lemond. I saw Lemond at the 94 World MTB Champs in Vail wearing shorts standing on a rock by Bailey's. He wasn't fat then, but he was shaved out and looked pretty fit still.
Vino had to come up with something today to salvage what is left of his tour as there will be no podium for him this year. Rasmussen is hanging tough pity he can't TT. He will shed at least 4 minutes to the TT specialists.
Tomorrow you will see the French boys try to do something special for Bastille Day, they always do. I think Sandy Casar or Laurent Brochard may give it a go. This weekend looks great with two big stages Sat and Sun.
Hincapie is a fricking stud to lead the disco boys over the Galibier. He is a serious work horse.
Have not heard much from the ACE yet but I think he is saving his legs for the Pyrenees. I see a barn burner on Saturday in the final climb.

I just read that Jens Voigt was eliminated from the tour for time deficiency. That's tough. Going from the Yellow Jersey to being disqualified in two stages shows how brutal this race is.
Charlie, here comes the deuce. And when you speak of me, speak well.
by 38 fricking seconds. That is cruel punishment. Read on velonews that he had the chills and a 40C temp but wanted to give it a chance. He is a classy rider.Originally Posted by Stu Gotz

It's idomatic, beatch.
Then enlighten me please. If you need to flame away go for it. I just thought I wa being called the armchair QB. I ride my 60 miles a week by myself and enjoy the pro tour. However, I don't ride disco wagon like others during only July. I like Hincapie as he has really evolved as a racer over the last five years. I just wish he had free reign in the one day classics to race for himself and that may come next year with Lance's retirement.Originally Posted by Cornholio

another case of a newbie taking things out of context. Do a search for Armchair Extreme and then things might make a little more sense. Ever hear of a "shout out"??Originally Posted by atomicboy
on another note. I am lovin the tour so far. Pretty exciting stuff, little more alps then some Pyrenees, these guys are sick. The speeds the winners were rocking at going through the narrow streets were clenching.
More fucked up than a cricket in a hubcap

Like Stu said, he does. I raced against him as a jr. almost 15 years ago- he was a stud than and still is. Winning a one day race depends on luck a lot more than a 3-week stage race.Originally Posted by atomicboy

That's cool that you raced against George. I raced as a junior in Ohio for a couple years in the late eighties and did alright, I did one race against national caliber juniors and got shelled big time, but I don't think any of them ended up on Postal/Disco racing in the Tour. Though I did get an autograph from Roberto Gaggioli that day.Originally Posted by Plakespear
I realize that but the point I was trying to get across is he is a much more rounded rider now than say 5 years ago and really has the form to be a great classics rider. He does ride in some of the classics and has had some success but it would be great if he rode for a team like Quickstep (Belgium) that is built more for the classics for support rather than a one race focused team. Yes Salvo won the Giro but Disco was put together for one reason and one reason only.
