    X 2!!!

SO STOKED FOR YOU! You deserve it, M! Glad you get to stay up there, and glad you'll still get many, many turns in, both on snow and on dirt!

Have you told them yet that you'll be a taking a week off in October to go to Moab ?

You are inspiring me in a huge way (not that I needed any more help) to get my ass to a ski town after I graduate high school. Beautifully written.

It's always nice to hear great stuff like that happen to cool people.
Congrats on the job! I imagine we'll be seeing a lot more reports from the 'heav this winter.

and "The boss let me ski again" "and again, and again, and again"

I thought you were SICK of writing up TR's?

    Great read, M!

Kind of cool that alot of your best memories from the past two years, are also mine. We took some great trips together, and Fat Thursday and that day at the Heave are simply unforgetable.

Glad you will be staying in town. Tahoe just wouldn't be the same without you.

I guess there is hope then

That's awesome!!! I wondered if you were ever going to return to "real life". Apparently not, since a job that lets you go skiing on powder days, and provides an income can hardly be described as "real life."

Wow! Too many posts to respond too. All I can say is THANKS!!!!!

And for some reason this keeps getting better. I finished the second and last day of training today and then headed over to check in with my boss and get settled into the office. So we talked for a bit and then I was shown MY office. Yup, I have my very own private office: four real walls, a door, and windows. No cube, no annoying next-cube neighbor, no boss peeking over the wall, just me...and a color tv...with cable. The view isn't like the pic I posted earlier since there's concrete lattice covering the windows; but it still let's plenty of light in. Will somebody please smack me upside the head? This can't be right.

Great news, Arty. I look forward to dawn patrol before work, too. What a life!! Just don't tell your boss you feel like you're on vacation or else he'll pick on you all the time. But that's what it feels like - even though you're holding a 40 hr/week job!! It's excellent!!

What's this dawn patrol stuff? I can just go to the Wood or the Heav for an hour or two and then stroll into work around 10-11. Hmmmm...I guess I'm going to hell.

    Welcome to the neighborhood, Arty!

We'll have to work out some sort of code for saving spots in the gonjola line on pow days.

Now if only I could get this winter's storms to dump pow on the right half of this picture while sparing the job site with drought conditions on the left side - that would rule.

If things don't work out for you at that job, come knock on our door in a couple of months. At the end of August our ace intern Zippy is going to be back focussing on his degree, chicks and bongs. As you can see by the below picture, we don't demand a lot out of Zippy's position:

Just look for the guy throwing daffy-twister-spreads off the step downs along the jongdola line. Once I'm halfway down, you can run out of the office and meet me in line.

Nah, I'm just jealous because I couldn't move there for a few months like you did last winter!

and pfft... you got me beat by a longshot with the Himalyan & Alps trip last year. I'm relegated to being a weekend ninja warrior

Serious props to Arty- I think that it's just so cool that everything worked out like that for you. Now if they need a sales guy or ops director, you just let me know
