    TDF stage 9 - IMPRESSIVE!

The break succeeded for a 2nd straight day with another Rabobank win as Rasmussen attacked 2km into the race and held it all the way, the last 50k solo. That was incredible to watch.

Lance loses yellow, but to Jens Voigt who will crack in the big mountains. I think that's a relief as it shifts the burden away from Discovery to CSC. Discovery definitely looked better today.

Voigt is 2:18 up on Armstrong, not much else changed as far as Vino, Ullrich or Basso. I think this definitely shifts things back into Discovery's favor, they'll be able to relax a little.

How about 9th yesterday and 13th today for Chris Horner, he's gotta be psyched about his results in his first tour. Too bad about Zabriskie, abandoned the tour after getting dropped again early today. His two crashes seem to have taken a big toll. I really feel bad for him, especially after watching the post race interview, he's defintely bummed.

Edit: I'm going back to bed now, I got up at 4:30 this morning to watch all 5 hours of coverage. Definitely worth it.

Edit 2: CSC has four riders in the top 10, also impressive. AND as a rerun, the podium girls are hot. Lucky George Hincapie, married one a few years ago.

    Dude, get a VCR.
    5am?

Rasmussen earned it. The Dots are where it's at!
He looked great all the way to the finish.
No water on his bike (he'd steal a drink from the water wagon and toss the bottle).
All alone. And no one could gain time on him.
    Day off tomorrow?

Funny you should say that, I have a VCR, but the recording quality is bad. I also prefer to watch the tour early mornings because Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin are on the whole time, instead of alternating with dumb and dumber (trautwig and Roll). And yeah, my alarm went off at 4:30, got up at 4:45. Tired today.

I got up this morning and did yard work, with plans of going to the Rockies game in the afternoon, then avoiding the TV and watching it tonight. While at the Rockies game i was discussing the tour with my buddy and some lady turns around and tells me "Lance was 3rd overall after today" WTF??? I wanted to punch her right in the throat. I looked her dead in the eye and said "thanks for ruining it for me I was going to watch it tonight" Then she proceeds to start telling me details of the day. I had to stop her again and tell her that i was still planing on watching it. Fugging women.

Rassmussen blew me away today. Team disco definatley showed why they are there though, they were setting and incedible pace for the Peleton up that last climb.

    Their pace was impressive.
I forget the stats, but EuroSport showed them and it was well above normal for the first 8 days of the Tour compared to the past few years.

Anyone feel free to find that stat and post. I will try and find it.

But, the pace is fast this year, that seems for certain.

There is a link to get the website in english on that page, but any of those would give you pretty much the same info.

www.pezcyclingnews.com rules. check it out, especially their mole in France who reports on non-race stuff as he rides the route - hillarious. plus, they post pictures of hot chicas every day from le tour

that solo break away yesterday by Rasumesen (sp) was pretty awesome. props to him, and now the race really starts!

I agree. Compared to Phil and Paul he's a hack. It seems like everytime he sees a rider he calls out the wrong name and doesn't realize it until the name is shown on the screen.

As annoying as he is, I think Trautwig is far worse. I could handle Roll on very brief occasions, but Trautwig is a dumbass.

I don't really mind Trautwig, sure he isn't as knowledgeable as Phil and Paul, but he also isn't as annoying as Roll. Gotta give Trout some credit for at least being interested in the sport, he's come a long way from the start of last years tour, at least give him that.

Yeah and he sums things up well for dumbass non-roadie Americans, like myself.

They really need to use some more teleprompter action. When Phil and Paul are getting all excited as the Peleton morphs I have no clue who is who and what is going on (but learning).

BOBKE IS A LEGEND, HOW DARE YE ALL BAG ON HIM! People like you make a career possible for the Trout - that douche knows jack about cycling.

BR was one of the first americans to ride in EUR. He rode Paris-Roubaix 7 times in his career! For those that don't know about the "Hell of the North", its probably the most challanging one day race, or classic, in cycling. 160 miles over mostly cobble stones - its brutal. He also rode in the Tour several times for some of the classic cycling teams like 7-11 and Motorola. The man lives in Durango, is a bad ass skier and mtb'er, and knows a lot about cycling, and the history and legend of the sport.

Its like calling Doug Coombs annoying....don't dis the elders.

A solo break away of something like 167 KM and his decent down from that last climb ....HOLY CRAP is all I have to say.

Pretty cool to see a former mountain bike world champ kick ass like that in the tour
