You’ve got to fight for the right to paaaarty! B.B.
We used to have a party called the "Brent Road Party" where I went to college that often attracted college kids from all over the state and even some from as far away as NY and Florida.
They, the University and the police, put a stop to it my senior year by not only arresting people in the streets, but not even allowing people to even be outside. If you were only your own porch with a beer, they threatened to arrest you. The kicker was that even though it was private land, the university claimed it presented an inherint danger to them, and any student charged was placed under accademic probation.
I hope this guys wins, and we can have our party back.
I've been through this same thing as the plaintiff. however, apparently the cops are liable for your safety. say you died of alcohol poisoning after they left it wouldn't take much for a trial lawyer to prove negligence/derilection on their part.
however, the way these supreme court decisions keep going. you'll probably be able to drink your face off, ball whomever you want, just don't grow dope, finally your house can still get bull dozed in the name of public good.

Flippin outrageous abuse of authority! What kind of sobriety tests did they run on this individual to determine he was so intoxicated that he needed to be in custody.
What a CROCK OF SH*T!
Calmer than you dude
I got PC'ed by some staties at a pats game a few years back. They took me to the foxboro barracks in a paddy wagon full of similarly intoxicated folks including a father/son duo. the basement of the barracks is equipped with steel pipes running the length of the floor to which everyone is hancuffed. they have an old big screen projection TV with the game on and all the water you can drink. the only issue is that your buddies have to be sober to come get you out. beats getting arrested.
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature... Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. -Helen Keller
If the government is going to use/enter/extract me from it whenever and however they feel for whatever reason they can cite what's the point of even owning property, you might as well just pitch a tent in the woods.
It's like I'm just renting my home from the government.
"Land of the free" my ass.
