I'm going to send you a PM now.

Thanks to everybody for the help. It'll help me save some money and put it towards my Alaska fund anyways so that helps me a lot. Relocating within the next 2 years hopefully before my 29th birthday, that's the goal at least.

I just want to say that it is refreshing to see a new member (not that I have been here all that long) with an actual non-default handle that actually follows up on the advice given, asks more questions, etc. Good on you tyfattori!

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

^^^ Alternate thread tittle: Best AT Setup for Guided Roadside Attractions in AK or Japan?

No need for a full blown touring setup, just something for staged pics to post on Instagram. Must work well for 98% inbounds and 2% sidestash.

I'll throw in my two cents. I'm 5 11, 180, skied for 51 years and have been touring for the past nine. I'm using F12 on a 9 DIN on two different alpine skis with alpine boots with a walk mode. They've worked fine for me. The stack height is a bit different but not a major problem. Disclaimer is that I also have two pure alpine setups that I ski in-area but it doesn't bother me to ski the touring gear in-bounds.

I assume you're just doing laps in one spot rather than longer tours?

Mostly, yes. However, we did one trip up Mt. St. Helens but mostly boot-packed on the way up. We also did a three day hut trip with six hours on skins the first day and about 4 hours the second day but got rained out the last part of that day and the next. But yes, mostly out the gates at Schweitzer for half-days.
