    My worst commute ever

Today I had my worst commute ever. I was having a great ride on the way in. I'd left a little late and had a good time trial going when pop, whoosh woosh a flat. Stop, flip over the road machine and lo and behold there's a nice little gash in the sidewall of my rear. Hmmm nothing to use to boot the gash. Oh well I'll just slip in a fresh tube to get to work and fix it there. Thank my lucky stars that I'd tossed in an extra CO2 cylinder.
I made it to work fine
At the end of the day I did a little duct tape work inside the old michelin pro race. Thought there goes a few dozen beer into a replacement tire. Off I went on my merry way home. Things were actually going well again for a bit. Riding well, reeled in and passed a couple of guys who had left before me started to feel pretty good.
Just started the only decent on the way home going about 50-55 km/h leaning on the aerobars when the armpad broke off sending me veering onto the unpaved shoulder. Straight in front is the inevitable road sign so into the ditch I went. Fortunately the other side of the ditch was nice soft foliage. My bike and I were ok, some grass stains and twigs hanging off where the don't belong but intact. Thanking the lucky stars again.
All in all not a fun ride.

Why were you doing 50k on a questionable tire?

Why do people ski with marker bindings?

Cuz it was what I had. Tire was booted on the inside and fine. The sudden break of the areobars was. the problem.
