    Crapola!

So I was doing that crest loop today, parked my car at mill d and rode from there. It was awesome, but I wiped out mega hard after that lake! I have no idea what happened!(on pain killers right now) I was going really fast on an easy sidehill part of the trail(after the lake not on the ridge) and all I remember was me pedal clipping a rock or something, next thing I'm sideways and forward off my bike. I was going 26mph at the time according to my computer. Slammed head first snapped my helmet in 3 places, and separated my shoulder. Level 3-4 according to the dude at the emergency room. So I'm out for the D.V. Super D. Whadda ripoff. It sucked riding my bike the rest of the way down the trail too. Oh well at least it was a sweet wipe out that caused it. And the side part of my kiester hurts pretty bad also.
    RATS!

Yeah I'd like to go watch. I have an appointment with a specialist tomorrow, but the guy at the emergency room said I'd probably havta get pins put in it. It looks really gross. We'll see. Feels good now on the pain killers though.

Years ago, I too crashed really hard on one of the Mill D descents. I can still hear the sweet ringing sound of my top tube denting as it made contact with a rock.

Yeah man. I mean, what's the point of participating in sports where there's a risk of injury? That's just dumb, right?

Good call. You are probably better off just keeping to the running and slowly pounding your knees and back to death. At least it won't be the immediate pain like with biking.

Oh, Shepherd dude, sorry to hear, heal fast and well man.

    Quit being a pussy......

    Pussy.

(By the way, I smacked the ground VERY hard yesterday with full body armor on and still got rashed up pretty good. Nothing a large tube of Neosporin can't fix; I'll be riding again tonight, raging all weekend).

Bummer! We'd love to have you in the cheering section...that is if you're not laid up on the couch drugged up (that's where'd I'd be).

I wonder if you hit the same "thing" I did. We went again yesterday, and I was anticipating the damn thing this time. Despite knowing it was coming, I had to make a concerted effort not to drill it again. The good line through a berm basically sends you right into it.

    Anyway, heal up soon.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Bummer, Wong. Separated shoulders can be a bitch. I did mine in January. It was only grade 1, but bugged me for weeks. Hit that PT hard and heal up soon.

heal up fast and straight dood>and don't forget your cowbell when you go watch the maggots at the race!

I met a tree last night I didn't like very much...it was only a small tree, but I still didn't like it. It always causes me pause after big crashes, then I wonder when it's going to start to snow again. mmm soft soft snow

THanks guys! I'm really just bummed out over this bummer of a shoulder. Here's some pictures.
Desolation lake. I even cleaned that tricky ridge section twice on the ride, once on the upper route and once on the lower route. Pretty good for me.
About a mile after the lake is where I lost it.

Picture of damage. I don't like looking at injury pics except of me so I didn't put it in here. Not too awful looking

That sucks. That severe an injury isn't all that common, sorry to hear that, hard to go out so early in the season. How many months until you can ride again? (or did you not even go there yet.)

The doctor said 4-6 weeks after surgery.
Which sounds pretty quick to me but I'm not complaining. I'll just miss the hottest months.

That sucks, at least it's better than those slow-motion crashes where you can replay it in your head over and over and think about how you could have avoided it. Sounds like you straight up wailed yourself.

Oh, and want to give me your D-Ville place if you're not going to able to ride?
