like most stupid shit i did as a kid, it served no useful purpose at all...... had to do something while i waited for the cell phone to be invented.
Yesterday I couldn't open the deadbolt WITH a key. Finally had to beat on the lever with a hammer, file the strike plate. I never use button locks on exterior doors. Too easy to break in, too easy to lock yourself out. My wife likes the button lock on our bedroom door though, so she can lock me out when she's mad at me.
We don't lock our doors unless we're out of town, except for the garage doors. Nothing worth stealing in the house--just computers, stereo, TV's, checks, guitars, amps, just crap like that. But my skis are in the garage.
I really can't believe that. I also want to know how the guy in the other thread got his new bike stolen from his garage.
In related news, my neighbor called me the other day. He had nagging thought that he forgot to close his garage door before he went out of town and wanted me to confirm that he didn't have a senior moment.
I see hydraulic turtles.
Peppa Pig. British animated kids show.
My youngest watches it constantly - he asked me yesterday if I would replace batteries in the "torch".
We went to the zoo recently and I caught myself saying zebra like "zeh-bruh" instead of "zee-bruh".
Might becoming annoying someday. But I hope not. Better than Paw Patrol.
I saw some peppa pig. Enjoyed it fine. My favorite was always Oswald (voiced by Fred Savage).... just the most mellow friendly positive show:

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
