I can't say I loved Nirvana at the time, but they have grown on me somewhat.
Yeah it kinda went Nervermind...some good tunes, MTV unplugged....nope, Dead...mega famous.
Now Peal Jam, thats a great band.
And $1k concerts, I'd rather stick that in my retirement or fly to somewhere cool. I can go to Colombia for a week for that price.
Why aren’t avalanche transceivers rechargeable?
there's a thread for that https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...verrated-bands
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy
I'm amused by the fact one of the greatest bands of the twentieth century who put out what is considered perhaps the best album of the century is disliked by so many people. It still remains popular with kids today. Even more amusing is the fact if Cobain were alive today he would agree with each and every one of you.
I think that's for rechargeable AAA cells?
It's hard to believe that cell phone battery tech and discharge monitoring hasn't advanced to the point of being more than capable of transferring to beacons. Maybe it's the cost of licensing that or of the batteries themselves relative to the infinitesimally small beacon market.
Rechargeable batteries degrade over time and require more frequent charging as time goes on. Fine for phones. Perhaps too risky for something used seasonally for years with replaceable batteries that last through each season.
This text from my son:
“What’s the disease where you break out into little assholes and shit yourself to death?”
The answer is Largy, a “disease” his grandad made up.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.
Oh, I'm a fan alright. From Bauhaus to Tones on Tail to Love and Rockets. I just saw a viddy on youtube of their show a few weeks ago. Pretty good actually but marginal vocal mic attenuation.
Would love to see but too much...
Yeah, that's some bullshit. I could sit in my car in the parking lot and listen for cheap. I don't need to actually see them for another few hundo. pleeez.
For the FOG's:

Funny that some of you were there too. I kinda memba '92 being hot as fuckall at the Denver show. Lawn seats but jumped the rail and hit the mosh pit for Ministry. So fucking loud, plainly turned on the atomic powered sound wall for them.
I saw the RHCP first at an unscheduled stop at VCU in '84? on the True men don't kill coyotes tour on the Schaeffer court stage, again in '85 @ Rockitz.
NIN had blown too many circuits so they were replaced by Violent femmes by the Denver show. VF was good, but nin was all the rage that summer.
I saw Rollins for the last time in '06. I flew in from work one morning and headed home only to find an envelope on my pillow from my wife. I thought it was a nice welcome home note but it was a single ticket for Rollins Band and X for that night. I went right to the front when I got into the venue and stayed there all night. Caught a drumstick from the Rollins set and got a couple of picks from Billy Zoom.
Yes! because the wife loves both of them and she has never seen JA
I saw those expensive options and got scared for a bit, then saw seats half that price.
IIIRC lawn seats were $89 before fees, and we got tickets 3/4 of the way back for $150 with fees. Since it's roughly a 2500 person venue I'm thinking the cheap seats will have great views. In the pic below we are in the lower right corner of the pic, in seats - looks good to me

That was this show: I saw them in SLC @the Depot.

Stellar show...
Reading this I guess I should have bought tshirts at all those concerts 20-40 years ago, seemed cheesy at the time but they would be cool af now.
I was at the Starland Ballroom show. Great venue.
Ha. Last time I saw Henry Rollins was when he was going around to small venues doing his poetry. It was actually awesome. Super chill and he seemed like a really great guy. Always found it fascinating to watch his evolution from Black Flag to Rollins Band to poet laureate. I guess he's been performing the spoken word since the 80s, but it was news to me at the time. Very talented, multi-dimensional gentleman.
