Delta flight diverted after passenger reportedly has 'diarrhea all the way through the airplane'
That amused me. I suppose it would have been less amusing if I’d been on that flight.

I did fly that flight last March.

If that 82 refers to the year you were born, more likely you would have known my sister.

Though if you frequented bike shops when you were in high school, we may have crossed. I was working at one of the better ones in town high school thru university.

2 hours into an 8 hour flight. That’s a tough call. I bet there was someone on that plan that wished it was 4 hours from Atlanta, so it would have been just as quick to get to Barcelona.

I have a friend who had a bad emergency like that in the airport, not on the plane. It’s heartbreaking to hear him talk about it.

The photo that initially shows up when you click the link is amusing.... guy on a stretcher being carried overhead. Seems pretty risky until you read the caption underneath that it's from a story about turbulence.

In light of the diarrhea on a plane story, maybe they need to rethink the new seating design..

The amount of higher school friends on Facebook sending kids to 5th grade and under is amusing. Holy shit there’s quite a few. I’m pushing 50 and these people graduated with me. I thought I felt old moving my daughter into the dorms last month compared to others dads.

About to hit post but yeah, I live in young parent central Utah so I guess perspective comes into play.

You and Woodsy came to mind. I know everything is perspective and most thoughts in the human brain revolve around one’s person familiarities. So to you guys it’s just normal.

Mines been gone for several weeks now so there’s a sense of “we’re done” in this house finally. Now seeing kids I knew 35 years ago sending little kids off hits differently these days.

At least this way they don’t have to bother piping the fart smells through the AC and they can go direct to face.

what was weird for me was seeing a few parents of my daughter's friends that were young enough to be my own kid had I started (much) earlier.

    50 with a kid in grades 6 and 9.

I sometimes am a bit jealous of my empty nester friends.

and then I remember what I was doing in my 20s.

    and 30s

That would not have been conducive to quality parenting but I would not have wanted to miss a minute of it!

Each their own and what not.

I know a couple guys in their 50's on their second brood who traded in their old ones for 20+ yrs younger women. That takes some energy.

Have a friend who’s father was in his mid-60’s when they were born - his only child. He was in his 90’s when they got married. His kid buried him before she turned 40. He fully lived 3 lives. Was a Scottish WW2 vet. Then a boat designed/cruiser who was one of originators of the cruising lifestyle that started after WW2 (published books about it). Then married a woman 25 years younger who was an expat artist living in the Caribbean, had kid, and settled down a bit, designed boats, and raised family.

Have another set, wife/mom is 63 and kid is 18. Husband/dad similar age. Lived a hard charging high risk adrenaline-fueled younger life. It’ll be interesting to see how long they go.

A close HS friend, first kid was born when he was 17, last when he was 38. He could be a grandfather any day now….
