Kayaking today I pass 2 girls on a SUP. The preteen sitting on the back of the board asks me out of the blue, "what's your favorite Taylor Swift song?"
(My response--who's Taylor Swift. What's your favorite Grateful Dead song? She said she'd look it up.)

Taylor Swift's tour is expected to gross more than $1 billion this year. She sells tickets worth more than $13 million a night. She plans to give over $50 million in bonuses to her tour crew. That's a minimum 6 figure bonus for everyone traveling with the show. Not a bad summer job, working as a Taylor Swift roadie.

If she does that I'd be impressed. I honestly don't know one of her songs, but I've heard or read a blurb on what she stands for and she appears to be a good person.

    Has Taylor Swift posed nude?

Apparently I need more non-topless-male content for Titty Tuesday.

I don't know crap about that chick but I saw where she's giving each of the Tour's driving crew a $100,000 bonus.

    Is that Tipflation or what?

That she makes ~13M per show is mindboggling.

Thumbs up to her kicking down tho. Impressive.

    Fuck Kanye'.

That's right!!! I'd forgotten it was during Taylor's mike time that Kanye dropped his infamous "Imma ...." lunacy.

Her tour is projected at having a $5 billion impact on the world economy.

Truck driver has GPS jammer, accidentally jams Newark airport.

No reasonable employee wants their boss to know where they are all the time.

Just as no reasonable boss wants his employees to know where she is all the time.

In the former case, those who have to drive around know that one way to get around the problem is to purloin an (entirely illegal) GPS jammer.

Ha! I have a 12x12x18 block of larch from a timberframe home builder. Love that chunk of wood, has a very stately lily on top of it in the living room by the TV. Damn think must weight close to 40kg.

No way I would pay $700 for it though. I figure I saved it from being firewood (Lw is the best firewood, the bark has enough BTU’s to smelt low grade steel)

Sales tax holidays crack me up. Prices get artificially adjusted, sheep flock to the malls and the stores put an extra 5% in their pockets thank you very much.
Damn, we're in a tight spot!

You guys can laugh but when was the last time you saw a 13x13 at the lumberyard. Given the price of lumber these days the price isn't that far out of line. And it's hand planed and hand waxed--artisan labor isn't cheap. I bet the seller payed twice that at the designer showroom where his interior decorator found it.
