I mean - it *will* be fine as long as NOTHING goes wrong EVER.

    Good luck with that.

FTR - I do know a number of people with CL fiber and am secretly jealous of their blazing fast upload speeds. But they haven't had any problems... yet.

And while we're here... for the love of the FSM, Comcast, will you implement symmetrical service NOW, please.

Fiber technology is so much better than most other options that you'd have to go out of your way to make it suck.

But if anyone can, it's probably CenturyLink.

Yeah, my issues with them don't have to do with their technology. It's their astoundingly bad and corrupt organization that's the problem.

The only fiber available in Truckee is Raisin Bran. Although the PUD is making noise about offering broadband and they did bury some fiber when SW Gas put in mains years ago.

When I last had to deal with them, the only option was ADSL, which was slow for downloads and abysmal for uploads. Plus you got to deal with CenturyLink, so it was really a lovely deal overall.

Thankfully, the cable company improved it's uplink to town and provided another option. Prior to that upgrade, attempting to use a cake connection at peak times was even more painful then the DSL.

Amazon: we take counterfeiting very seriously! I think they need to take a closer look at what people are selling on their platform....

Checked what was up over on Ski Talk and there’s a thread where someone is wondering why it looks like skiers often stem turn in powder.

Example video they’re criticizing is of Salomon pro Robert Aaring. Some dude posted pic of his not-particularly-young wife as an example of proper form.

Against my better judgment, I just checked in on this thread on SkiTalk.

This is my favorite so far:

I'm not sure who is responsible for the Snow Brains website, but their command of the English language leaves a lot to be desired. Consider this excerpt:
Not only is Jackson Hole Resort one of the premier ski destinations in the world, but the adjacent town of Jackson is truly a magical place. With an old-time western culture that spans back well into the 1800s, the downtown area is stooped in history...

Good thing he showed the lion the toy pretty quickly, or that could have ended badly.

Kind of amusing seeing Lumberg in a Walmart commercial. He looks pretty good considering Office Space was 23 years ago.

Plus that commercial incidentally smoked out the fact that my wife has never seen Office Space.
