    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

So you zoomed in to get actual directions to the aisles in a store on the other side of the country? Amusing!

I’m watching an old WWI movie called “Flight Commander”. Every time they show biplanes on the screen there is a subtitle saying “jets droning”. Yeah, those biplane must have had jet engines in WWI.

I should mention the subtitles were provided by Directv, not the original film.

Turned out to be an amazingly good movie that I’d never seen or heard of before. Originally titled “Dawn Patrol” it won the Oscar for best story in 1930. It was remade in 1938 with the same title, so they renamed the original movie “Flight Commander”. I’d seen the remake with Errol Flynn, but not this one. I think this is actually the better movie.

The aerial combat scenes are amazing, especially considering when it was made. A lot of the scenes were reused as-is in later films including the 1938 remake. There are also some pretty convincing special effects involving large explosions that I had a hard time believing were done using scale models, if that was how it was done. Very realistic, although I know they probably didn’t actually blow up a train yard or supply depot for the film.

    Sorry for the ramble.

Clearly communicated each time, but the soda filter gave the first explanation a nice, subtle silliness apropos of the thread. 8.1/11.

after transplant I would race other patients around with our catheter gurnies until a nurse told me that I didn't want to find out what it would feel like if I tripped on my catheter line.

I took her at face value and stopped racing around the transplant floor

Had a guy in his 30's--juvenile diabetic, kidney failure, lost both his legs to gangrene--who used to drive his motorized scooter down the halls at high speed. We had to take it away from him after he ran down several nurses. I guess that's not that amusing. The guy had been a cop--not easy to be so helpless.

At a previous job a supervisor wanted me to take one so that we "could understand ways to communicate better". I barely managed not to laugh in his face and then never did it.

More Directv incompetence: the 1942 John Ford movie “The Battle of Midway” is described as “Actual footage of the attack on Pearl Harbor”.

When folks in the Special Collection thread gripe because Viva doesn't have a fresh selection of curated bewb pics by 7 am each Tuesday morning. The whole interwebs is made of porn, but I guess your previous actions dictate people's expectations.

...and every now and then someone complains that "this week's selection was not that good".

C'mon now. Viva's pics are top quality and you don't get a bunch of porn popups on your laptop. My son used mine a while back to show me something on youtube. Started to type in YOU..... and youporn came up. He was young at the time. Embarrassing.

Yeah. Open a new browser window in Private Mode ("Porn Mode"), so that if anyone borrows the laptop the address doesn't autocomplete to FurryTransGrannies.com or something similar.

That site apparently doesn't exist. Should I have been looking on the dark web?
