I thought you guys liked naked avatars!

I will only get rid of mine if dingleberry gets rid of his.

Mrs. Roo, keep the fat avatar. As disturbing as it is, Dingelberrys needs to stay.

I'm at a loss for words. I didn't watch much tv today or read the news. And for some reason I didn't click on this thread. It's good to hear from people who are there. It's gives you a different perspective. All you London mags rule. So glad to hear you're ok.

She travels from Islington to Kings Cross then down the Piccadilly Line to Covent Garden. Was worried sick but finally recieved an SMS from her and she's alive and well.

I'm now back at work having got the tube in. There's a funny atmosphere but a lot of people are travelling. Normally commuters ignore each other completely but people were watching each other more than usual. I looked up to see three people regarding me. I didn't think I looked that suspicious!

London is as busy and noisy as ever though there are maybe more sirens. They closed Charing Cross station just as I was coming out of it. We are probably going to be plagued by security alerts and closures for some time to come.

I took the Tube in as far as Camden this morning because Euston was closed due to a security alert. I got out and decided to walk the rest of the way. After walking for about 5 mins a car pulled up beside me and the bloke gave me a lift to work!

Mrs R, don't be so paranoid, they were looking at you thinking "Damn! I bet she can dance!"

They're probably just wondering what you look like naked.

yeah I know, it's cheesy, hell, it's even tasteless to respond that way to the death of 50 people und countless injured. but after all it's definitely an adequate response on terrorist acts: http://www.werenotafraid.com/

Yo Mrs. Roo, glad to hear you're ok.
Hope the rest of the Maggots are too (plus a few of my friends).

    My condolences to all Londoners.
Surely, it is a difficult time.

Hope the weather is nice the next few days
so commuting by bike will be enjoyable.

I've just caught up with the new developments in the investigation and I feel very distressed to find out that the bombers took the same trainline (in the opposite direction) and arrived at king's cross exactly when i did in the same section. It makes me shiver and feel quite ill that i was undoubtedly walking amongst them that morning. Turns out they were suicide bombers. At least the bastards died. Hope that heaven and matyrdom was disappointing for them.

Things have moved very quickly indeed.

I think there's a special place in hell for this type. Glad everyone is healthy and that all is well. Rather startling that these were English lads. What are the ties to a terrorist network or did the party claiming responsibility just jump the band wagon? In any even, glad to see that all the maggots are fine.

Mrs. Roo, I understand your feelings. I'm sure it gives you the creeps knowing that you were only meters from these blokes and the explosives. I applaud you for your bravery and unselfishness helping those injured in the blasts. Good on ya!!!

People have been aware for a while that young impressionable muslim lads have been targetted at mosques and Universities by hardline fundementalists. Often these kids are dreamers who are ideal for brainwashing. Their families are often completely unaware. The family of the 22 year old lad who blew up the bus reported him missing to the Yorkshire police that evening and his family was searching all over the Leeds area for him. There have been a handful of such recruits who have gone abroad and become suicide bombers (Richard Reid is one example). This is the first time it has happened on turf. This is what is frightening many in the UK.

Thanks for the support, mags. These new developments have only increased my distress. The hospital counsellors are in for a departmental session tomorrow.

Tomorrow at 12.00pm GMT there will be a Europe wide 2 minute silence. It would be wonderful if one or two of you could show your solidarity and join us (as long as it isn't a totally heinous hour of the day of course).

That sounds right. I did meet him once but I tend to remember most people by their board names.

I assume he'll be playing in the world games which is July 22-24. Hopefully he's just busy getting prepared for that.
