Good luck and keep us posted. Again, so glad to hear you and Roo are ok. Amazing that I've only met you both briefly, but when I heard the news this morning, my thoughts immediately went to my UK maggot friends.

Many, many good thoughts being sent from Half Moon Bay.

Good luck on the ride!! Stay safe!!

Roos, I feel for you guys. I think the Mrs is going to need a nice big hug when she gets home. You take care of yourselves.

Glad to hear that everybody is doing OK.

I just emailed my aunt who lives in london, hopefully she is good. I know she never uses the tube so that is good.

Have a fast, safe ride home Mrs Roo.

Positive vibes to all others there.

SUMMIT- You must have missed the part in my post where I said "......share those same feelings", as in muslims who would be happy to stand on a street corner and hold the same sign the man in the picture you posted is holding. I did not claim you were talking about all muslims. I claimed you were talking about muslims who SHARE THOSE SAME FEELINGS. Read what people post, then post, then smoke crack. But put the little green army men away first, that is paramount.

    Prayers to the Londoners.

My family in Twickenham and West London are accounted for and okay. My cousin, a friend of his, and his girlfriend were to be heading into that area today to visit a museum.. luckily, the alarm clock wasn't set properly and they all slept in by accident.

Horrible how in 2001, it was them contacting us in the greater NYC vicinity to make sure everybody was okay - and now we've come full circle. This sh_t has gotta stop.

    Question

Yeah, does anyone have Edg's phone number or some other contact, he hasn't been online since 1:30am EDT, so 5:30am(?) GMT. I'm sure he's fine, but just wanna make sure. If you're out there, check in.

I guess you missed the part where I'm done with the politics, by popular request. But you can go ahead and continue to bring up and debate politics with yourself though.

I don't think this has been posted yet, so here's a video of Blair's remarks:

    Checking in...

I was out of London all day, on a college open day, thankfully, with my Dad. Phones were FUCKED, which was annoying - but everyone I know seems to be fine (Who thought school'd be good for you). Glad you're OK Mrs. Roo. Apparently there was a security scare at the BBC about 10 minutes ago, though this is likely just someone getting extra jumpy.

I haven't read this whole thread, but from what I have: there's no point in sensationalising this. A horrendous inident? Yes. A cause for panic, accusation and racial/religous prejudices? Certainly not. Don't (further) cunt up this thread with these things.

Tomorrow, I, along with many Londoners, will get back on the trains, tubes and busses (a lot of us all 3), and go about my daily business. Death stalks us at every turn, but fear drains us of life.

Do you realize that you've just posted an admission of ignorance so breathtaking that it disqualifies you from commenting on any political or economic threads from here on out?

Shit, spent most of the morning trying to get through to my dad.

He was getting a train to Euston, then a tube to Russell Square. A bomb went off on the tube between Euston and RS, and a bomb went off on the replacement bus service.

I just want to say this: Mrs. Roo = class act. To save the world, all we need are a few more billion with your respect, composure and dignity. Thanks. May whatever God you believe in, bless you infinitely.

This is such a shame. I went out with the gentleman who had organized our trip to London last night and he was on top of the world. London had been awarded the olympics and Steven Gerrard was staying at Liverpool. What could be better.

We had an early meeting this morning, during which the bombing occurred. It seemed like a huge vacuum was turned on and had sucked all of the air out of the room. Needless to say that the rest of our day was kaput.

I am glad that all of the London Mags are in okay. I love this city and my thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who were affected today.

As a side note, it seems like there is something wrong with the phone system. I can receive calls at the hotel, but I can't make calls going out. No cell phone service either. ??
