They cannot ship somebody home for expressing an opinion but if they believe a person is inciting racial (and now religious thanks to a new law) hatred on a larger scale they are starting to do something about it. The problem is that there are many in this city who will not make the distinction between extremists and the strictly religious i.e. those who wear headscarves etc. Showing photos of foaming mouthed fundamentalists does not help there cause (not just you but generally across the media).

i agree. my mum and grandparents came to england from ireland in the late 60s and had to put up with a great deal of abuse because of ira atrocities which they in no way condoned. many members the muslem community in the uk currently face hostility as the result of atrocities they do not condone.

i have muslim, hindu and sikh friends and i know they will all condemn this act, but unfortunately they will probably all suffer because of ignorant knee-jerk reactions and finger pointing.
