He's obviously responsible for the Capitalization and the Period.

But seriously, the tag is generated automatically so the clients can see the "Chain of Command." Naturally the editor is more important in multi-paragraph updates and stories, but he is also responsible for fact-checking.

    Glad you guys are okay.

I just woke up to hear this terrible news, but apparently my parents have been up all night trying to find my sister (she works in London), which apparently they finally did about 5AM Pacific Time. yeesh.

please dexter, I share you're argument. but don't turn this into a political discussion thread, as someone else already tried to do in a very distasteful way. I hope my friends in london are doing fine and I hope hate doesn't prevent those who are suffering from healing quickly.

The heroic mujahideen have carried out a blessed raid in London. Britain is now burning with fear, terror and panic in its northern, southern, eastern, and western quarters.

We have repeatedly warned the British Government and people. We have fulfilled our promise and carried out our blessed military raid in Britain after our mujahideen exerted strenuous efforts over a long period of time to ensure the success of the raid.

We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all the Crusader governments that they will be punished in the same way if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. He who warns is excused.

    Tolerated British Citizens... hmm...

    Yields,

I'm sure this American's words apply here:

Here is what should happen: Friday, funerals, grieving. Saturday: SAS slits a lot of throats. Sunday: picnics and football (a hearty FU to the terrorists)

Here is what will happen: The news agencies and politicians will pump up the fear of everyone for the next several months for ratings and publicity, stupid restrictive security regulations will be passed.

Do NOT start whipping up any stereotypes that could be dangerous to other innocents. The muslem community in the UK are very fearful of reprisals. I am of Indian origin. It only takes one ignorant pissed up fucker to think I am muslem (believe me it wouldn't be the first time) and I could be targetted. Remember those poor Sikh people who were attacked after 9-11.

If they are different but tolerant, they aren aren't a problem. If a person is advocating the violent subjugation through terror of all those who do not believe as he does (like the person in this picture is) ship them the hell out of your home, don't let him live next to you.

Yikes! 10 minutes. So glad the UK maggot contigent is okay. I was pretty confident no one I knew was hurt (I have no idea why that happens in situations like that, but it does). Still, it was killing me to have to wait till lunchtime to be sure my friends were ok.

I am so deeply pained for the losses today. Devasting news. I fear for my children growing up in a world that seems to increase in hatred and intolerance daily.

Glad my mates across the pond have checked in. I still need to show Mrs. Roo that I really AM a smooth dancer.

You are so fucking stupid I can't stand it. Have you ever left the little coccoon you live in called summit county? Have you ever been to Dearborn, MI? I didn't think so. There are plenty of people who look just like that and share those same feelings right down the street from me AND 13. Stop playing with your little green army men and do something other than post military propaganda bullshit in a thread where everyones only concern is for the safety of those who live where this happened.

They cannot ship somebody home for expressing an opinion but if they believe a person is inciting racial (and now religious thanks to a new law) hatred on a larger scale they are starting to do something about it. The problem is that there are many in this city who will not make the distinction between extremists and the strictly religious i.e. those who wear headscarves etc. Showing photos of foaming mouthed fundamentalists does not help there cause (not just you but generally across the media).

God, I'm suprisingly reasonable, considering I have visited the site of a terrorist atrocity today. What I have noticed of the people in the direct area where it happened is a quiet dignity in the face of what has happened and a determination to not let this terrible act scare us and stop us from enjoying our wonderful city (get the Union Jack flags out and start waving).

I have still not heard from all my friends and relatives working in London. My cousin used to take the train to Kings Cross but recently got a company car so he's OK. Please, out of respect for the dead DO NOT politicize this thread. Your comments (you know who you are) are playing like a broken record. Roos and London mags, I'm glad you're OK.

i agree. my mum and grandparents came to england from ireland in the late 60s and had to put up with a great deal of abuse because of ira atrocities which they in no way condoned. many members the muslem community in the uk currently face hostility as the result of atrocities they do not condone.

i have muslim, hindu and sikh friends and i know they will all condemn this act, but unfortunately they will probably all suffer because of ignorant knee-jerk reactions and finger pointing.

behaving in this way, talking about shipping people home and slitting throats helps noone, and in simply helps to radicalise people.

First and foremost, I'm sorry for your loss Brits, but am glad that those who are close to others here are safe. I suck at dancing, but will gladdly give it a go should any of you or myself cross the pond.

I think that's what they call having a stiff upper lip.

Hopefully when you get home Mr. Roo will have a stiff

drink waiting for you. Sounds like you've earned a mustache ride today as well

Why don't all you pikers that want to sling political BS use some other bs thread to attempt to further your agenda? that'd be a nice change of pace.

Summit, shut the fuck up. That was big of you to edit your post AFTER I had responded (with the voice of reason and world experience) to your idiotic, inflammatory and frankly dangerous comments. I now regret calling Brett a wanker because I would like to have saved that particular insult for you.

Grow up, get a passport, travel the world, meet people and then come back and interact with me.

    Unhappy

My condolences to all those involved, and I'm glad to hear that the Roo's are safe and sound. This is something that is truly awful, but we must realize that the United States and its actions/invovlement in the Middle East(including convincing the British to join our campaign) is partly responsible for this, and along with my sympathy I extend an apology.

Oh, and just to add to the shitstorm that seems to be brewing, Summit, you are a biggoted fuckhead for your comments above. That is all.

That's the rumour going around here too. It wouldn't be suprised. Now I wouldn't lend him a cup of sugar if he lived next door to me.

I tend to support the idea of slitting throats. You send your special forces to find terrorist, kill them in their sleep. It's much better way to eliminate people you need to kill than our current policy of bombing countries and invading all willy nilly with uncoordinated bloody occupations.

Send the SAS to wherever this particular Al Qaeda affiliated group is based, find their camp or headquarters, slit some throats, post the pictures.

AND YOU ARE FUCKING MORONS IF YOU THINK I AM TALKING ABOUT ALL MUSLIMS! WHO IS KNEE JERKING? I NEVER said that so don't put words in my mouth (A-wreck). But for those that are advocating violence and terror against us, they need to not be here (the same goes for violent neo-nazis, white supremacists, etc etc etc and others trying to violently overthrow the government and terrorize society with violence, ship them out too). Put down your religious persecution flags, this is about those who advocate terror and violence, regardless of religion. It just so happens that a lot of it seems to be coming from a perverted form of one religion, the Religion of Peace, these days. That's just statistics. Go ask India.

If my neighbor tells me he is going to dominate me and make me worship his religion and my only other choice is death, I don't care whether they are a Muslim, Christian, or some Gaia worshiping hippy on a bad acid trip, I'm gonna call the fucking cops.
