I think she’s summed up by the fact that her go fund me account got zero dollars. I mean she didn’t have some crazy uncle or close friend or ANYBODY that could give her five bucks? Even an alias to get the ball rolling?
Obviously anybody that knows her hates her.

Not to get too serious, but I think this might actually be a detriment. If I was hiring, I'd see Berkeley and Harvard and move her resume to the top....and once I googled the "Olympic athlete" claim and read about this...she would no longer be near the top.

Actually, what the fuck is up with Hungary? I get it that since plugboots are made in Italy, that it was hard for me to find an Olympic sport my brethren weren’t good at, so I gave up my quest.
If only plugboots were made in Costa Rica for example.

Aren’t there any women in all of Hungary that can slide down a half pipe?

I think 9/10 spectators at the event could have skied better than her. Is participating in the Olympics the new "it" thing for trust funders with foreign born parents ? I know this has been going on for many years but man that run was just sad.

There it is on her LinkedIn page, 2018 Olympian. She finished 21st out of 25 in the 2017 Freestyle World Championship. She actually did a lot better when she was competing in skeleton, finishing 4th once.

I don’t think she was expecting this much attention. Maybe she just had a bad run, and we should cut her some slack?

If she comes out with a “tell all” book about gaming the system and how it needs to change, she might get a pass. Otherwise she’s a newer model Tim Fenriss who figured out how to scam the system within the rules and is sleazy.

I shared an alley with the company she works at for a few years. They treated it like it was part of their office space, having exercise classes several mornings a week that blocked off the entire street. Their employees would stand beneath my bedroom window to make calls and take smoke breaks. (I mostly work from home). One recruiter spent the majority of her work days there, either making work calls or bitching about her job to her coworkers. So when I heard where this skier worked I got a good laugh and thought that it was perfectly typical. It's one of those many bay area tech companies that doesn't seem to have much purpose but has presumably lots of VC money, given their large staff and shiny new offices.

To me this move is a pretty spot on example of tech cynicism; disruption is inherently positive and who cares if you do things the honorable way. Also crazy entitlement with zero shame.

I'd personally be embarrassed to make the Olympics by spending a ton of money and time to game the system with no skills, but I'm not surprised that someone from that world doesn't see it that way.

I started skiing late and have never done any sort of inversion on skis. I'd much rather learn how to do that for my own personal satisfaction than exploit a loophole to be a fake Olympian and not be able to do the simplest trick at the Games.

i read a bit of an interview where she bemoaned her performance "because she worked so hard" and that she (along with the other "powerful" women) wanted to be an inspiration for others. she was proud to be one of only 26 in the world who qualified

I just watched with my 7 year old daughter and asked her to judge it. She looked at me and gave her a one point zero, told me it was terrible and then laughed and walked away. I am pretty sure she rips harder than that girl but she told me not to put that on the internet because she doesn't want to hurt her feelings.

To each their own I guess. I've always liked doing sports more than competition. Competition is to prove who is best among people really good at sport.

I think it’s funny to show how terrible IOC and FIS are when it comes to what’s best for the sports and athletes.

I wish she spent the money and time skiing instead of competing if she liked skiing in the pipe.

This is one of many reasons why Terje said FIS is terrible.
