I was on the edge of my chair for sure. I don't trust Kimbrel at all at this point.

Devers is locked in. Nunez doesn’t get to that ball

I would never give him the ball with less than 3 runs up.

Can anyone tell me WTF is wrong with fucking Craig Kimbrel? Watched this guy all season and saw him give up a few bombs and blow or nearly blow a few, but ever since the playoffs started the guy just seems completely off. I'm sure the Sox are studying him to see what the story is (could he be tipping his pitches, too?), but this is getting out of hand.

    This ends in LA.

Some great moments for Devers. Kid has delivered in the playoffs. Sox have drafted some players.

This fuckin' guy. What is more disgraceful? Manny repeatedly trying to blow up guys' achilles tendons or the fact that this pile of shit poured into a Dodger's uniform is utterly incapable of hustle? Look at this fuckwad! Who the fuck blows a bubble while running down the line!?! Instead of trying to beat out a difficult throw from third baseman who had to go to the ground to make a play. Manny is the worst. Too damn lazy to try to get the tying run to the plate, arrogant enough to blow a bubble just so he can show everyone he doesn't give a fuck and scummy enough to take cheap shots when he gets beat fair and square. Its all there to see in one play.

    Fucking Bubble Boy.

    Fuck that POS.

I hope the Sox are up by like 10 in game five and put him on his ass. Joe Kelly 100 mph into his hip. He deserves it--he fucked with Pedroia last season, too.

He's throwing hard but his control isn't there - it's not off by much, he's pretty much just missing, but then he gets in a hole and has to throw it down the middle and they're hitting it. Gotta be mechanical/psychological (which covers a lot of ground, I know) and it's probably fixable if they can figure it out.

There was also definitely a thing where he was tipping his curveball, there's been a few articles on that, maybe trying to figure out wtf was going on with that messed up his whole game, I dunno. But bottom line is he's not throwing enough strikes early in the count. Cora putting him in up by 5 should have been a spot where he could build some confidence, get in a groove, but nope not really.

At this point I'd rather see Brasier in that spot, or Kelly's been pitching well, he could do it.

really thought the red sox would be off last night. they both had to play two games in one Friday, but the dodgers still went home to sleep in their own beds.'

this ends tonight and the dodgers were lucky it wasn't a sweep, the red sox are better and it's not even close

The Dodgers are a good team. The Sox are the better of the two.

Yeah, maybe Kelly's the guy. And you're right, he obviously has not thrown enough strikes early--but that just goes back to the original question--WTF is going on to suddenly lose your control like that? I have a slightly irrational fear of Brasier simply because the first few times I saw him he struggled (mostly got the job done, but ugly). I think he struggled in his first appearance in the playoffs, too. I like Kelly's experience, and he seems like he doesn't give a shit about anything but shutting hitters down, so I assume pressure doesn't get to him (hasn't so far). 100+ doesn't hurt, either.

All that said, I don't know how you go from having a closer like Kimbrel all season to not using him in his role in what will hopefully be the last game of the season. I think you have to go with him, but ideally you don't use Kelly before him and have him on standby and a very short leash for Kimbrel. Or just hope Kimbrel starts being Kimbrel again. I don't know, probably no good/easy answer, just a little frustrating to see Kimbrel repeatedly make things an adventure. [/WEEIcrazycallintalk]

With Price starting they could bring Sale in to close if Kimbrel isn’t ready

I think they don't want Sale hitting/running. They'll hold him out for game 6 if needed.

Why are the WS commercials so lame and SB are so good?

You'd think they'd sort of step it up? I live by the mute button.
