I think Cora and Sale had a strategy with how Sale pitched against the Yankees this year. Sale pitched some excellent games against them in the first half. Then it really seemed like Sale's exposure to the Yankees lineup was almost purposely limited to some extent. In his last start against them, he was clearly not throwing the way he was prior to going on the DL. At that point, the Sox had already clinched the division so there was no reason for sale to go out there and throw his arm off. I think this was planned. Save sale's arm for the post season and don't let the Yankees see his best stuff.

I have a framed copy of it that my best friend gave me as a birthday present a couple months after the Sox won the World Series that year.

Ha. Just cause you all fucked up and destroyed your cool old stadium and replaced it with that $18 beer monstrosity full of suits and new money, doesn’t mean you will feel better by messing up Fenway

from NEK- I don’t know if it’s just the fan in me that wants to give Cora credit, he’s done a great job, but I also subscribe to that take. The mastahmind.

I couldn't watch the 9th, the yanks can beat most any pitcher, even Kimbrel needed a 2 run lead.

looks like the braves are just going to roll over for the dodgers, dam.

I was real glad Judge came up in a position he couldn’t tie it. Cause he can always do what he does

I'm in Manhattan for my daughter's birthday, she picked the restaurant and booked it. 8:15 reservation. Didn't see a second of the game tonight. Kinda sucked but all the bummed-out people in Yankee gear out in the streets after we finished dinner made me feel a little better.

Haha... wife accepted dinner party invite hosted by a gay couple last night out on their farm. Needless to say, did not see game, either or any bummed Yankee fans. But I did see several cows and a couple deer frozen in the headlights. Almost the same.

Last few innings were pretty nerve-wracking as a Sox fan. Never thought I’d be so relieved to see Porcello out of the pen, throwing strikes.

Yanks were definitely getting a good eye for pitches in the second half of the game.
