    shit i forgot it's on

edit: dang it's over but Mookie's being interviewed. All-time team leader in 3-HR games with 4, youngest in MLB history with 4, leads the league in HR's, not too shabby

Sounds like prime time to low ball him with another contract offer, Lucchino style

He has 2 potential arb years left which will only go up from his 10.5 this year, and then he's a free agent at age 27. If I were him, I wouldn't consider an offer for less than 8/200 right now.

If the Sox wanted the Lucchino/Nomar deal, they should've done it two years ago. It's a hell of a lot less appealing when you're an MVP candidate in your arb-eligible years.

8/200 would seem like a steal compared to Harper's 400

Ya I’m being sarcastic. The Sox blow at keeping their own players. Great at overpaying for other team’s players tho

I don't know, they had a lot of team-favorable deals since they started winning. Pedro, Wakefield, Ortiz. I am sure there are more.

They've been burned a little lately (crawford, gonzalez) but have also had the sense to let some walk (Smellslikeshitbury).

Let's hope Mookie doesn't pull a Lester and say he wants to stay and hint that he'll give the Sox the bro deal. that didn't exactly work out.

The current management doesn't seem to have the nose for value that Theo did, to put it mildly.

Ortiz best and most recent but he is a DH and that’s supposed to count for something, right? Worth every penny either way, miss that guy.

But lately ya Crawford, Gonzalez, Rusney Castillo... jury is still out on Price, etc etc while we’ve lost the likes of Lester, Adrien Beltre, Andrew Miller. Guess they weren’t too wrong on Victor Martinez but they don’t really have a seminal catcher, I’d take him.

If the hope for Price was to have an ace, the jury is back

Heheh, Price is a bad pitcher, it's true.

I also forgot about Pedroia, if that dwarf never plays another game he was still a bargain for the sox.

And reading of some of LAD potential options to replace Seager, Nuñez was one of the names floated around as a trade possibility with Pedy coming back. I am really torn on that possibility. Besides the obvious health concerns of Pedy, I really like Nuñez. Saying Brock and Tzu(sp?) are the INF depth, and I like both of those guys as well. I want em all, is that wrong?

Nunez has paid off for sure. Price had been ok but can’t stay healthy. He has ace stuff when he is in the mound. Sale and Kimbrell have been great adds IMO

Pede was a product of the Epstein-era farm system. But he's on a rehab assignment now and is supposed to be back by the end of this month. Dude probably isn't winning another MVP award, but if he can come back and put up a .360 on base with good d at second, the Sox will be kicking some ass.

Yankees win...no less than a split in Houston. Be very sweet to take 3 of 4.

Braves put a thump to the Mets.

1.5 games up in the NL east.....

I will savor this while it lasts.

The guy has been a 4th or 5th outfielder for years now. He wasn't suddenly going to become a major league starter again.

Interesting character though, and a unique career in the game.

Interesting I just read he and Pujols made their MLB debuts on the same day. Some good baseball between those two.
