The embraceability of the stress free lifestyle has led to an overall increase in the proponents of the stress free life. However to live a life without the travails of an up and down experience is to never fully realize the full potential from life.
It is as though the personality of someone who only longs for positive stress free experiences becomes so closed minded to the apparant falacy that surrounds them that they begin to think that this is a working philosophy. Thus the candide syndrome. However I truly think that this is wholesale responsible for the overall allowence of cynicism and ignorance/intollerance that is currently building up in the world.
To long for something that can only be obtained through a perpetually happy state ignores the blind truth that nothing is ever completely happy or completely sad. Life experiences and overall mental attitude lends the varying degrees to which stimulus affects us. Those that ride the state of life in a perpetually happy state can never fully realize the direct influence that their blind lifestyle actually has. In escence they prefer to gloss over the overall realities to create something better. They prefer to disassociate themselves from the stress, human drama, and anger that can be available.
Now, is this all bad? Is it so bad a thing to continue in a perpetual state? Well to the basis of having a positive attitude no, however once initiated often you will see the total intentional AVOIDENCE of actuall problems that need to be resolved. The total ignorence of situations that arise. It is a lifestyle with blinders attached. This is often a stopgap for other deep problems rooted in their mental picture. It is something used to bury deep problems within THEM that they choose not to explore. Often times these folks will have an intimacy problem or a closeness problem. However conversly they will not have a problem being around people, for within "people" they find the numbing drone that prevents true thought from having to become apparant.
