I'm kinda disappointed that the use of the pass for spring skiing this year requires you to get a pass at the resort each day of use. I figured they would send it out this spring and I'd be able to avoid the ticket lines every day.

I would guess that at this point, they probably don’t all use the same ticket technology.
Part of the reason for the consolidation, was so they can develop their own technology, instead of buying it from outside vendors.
They want to be the innovator and sell their technology to everyone else.

That's already there with the RIFD scanners, which seem to be winning that space race.

My Maxpass was sometimes direct to lift, sometimes exchange for an RIFD credit card linked pass, sometimes a daily ticket, every day.

On a spring weekend there are lines at Mammoth for tickets cause they only have Main Lodge and The Mill open, so it consolidates everyone into those areas. Just more of an annoyance. Unlike SB/Alta, Mammoth doesn't allow you to link a CC to your MC pass, so same deal there, buy a ticket each day.

Has anyone used the Ikon Base 18/19 pass this spring? Only at the unlimited resorts or the limited access resorts? I'm trying to figure out if I get days at Killington this spring without impacting my 5 days next season.

looking at the web site--the discounted price on child's pass bought with regular price adult pass goes away on the 9th. Nothing about the adult price going up. If past history is any guide SV will announce several deadlines before the price actually goes up.

I met someone on Jake’s from the Squaw corporate office who said the price is going up May 1st. Which was amusing because none of us asked about or showed any interest in the Ikon pass.

The kids pass is going to more than double. I just got an email that it goes up by $250 (currently it's at $149).

It's obvious their strategy is to raise a shitton of capital right now, but I think it's going to backfire on them overall.

Way too many rumors that turn out to be bullshit on this forum. I am prepared for scrutiny--I try not to repeat rumors, only information from reliable sources, and identify the source. Here's an email response from Squaw when I asked them:
"Current Ikon pass prices are guaranteed through the end of April. After, prices could go up $100. The current child promotion will end on 4/9."

For more information or to purchase your IKON pass, please visit IKONPASS.com"

Notice the "could". Squaw has a history of threatening to raise pass prices after a certain date and then moving the date back several times. So I guess you take your chances--maybe it will go up after 4/30, maybe it won't.

If you find me repeating unsourced information or rumor in one of my posts I'm prepared to be called out on it, as I should be.
