This has been a problem in Europe. Chair lift lines should be fine. Most of Europe uses 150cm of spacing so a little shorter than 6 feet, but gondola riders lined up too close together for that one powder day they had already and it was not good. Getting people spread out on chairlifts seamed to solve the issue according to news reports but not before people got pissed
ABasin base cam that looked at the bottom lift line has been down for some time for "maintenance". You have to wonder. My buddy drive up and was pissed when he saw the line and turned around.
Anyone happen to have any last minute Ikon discount codes? Still need to grab a pass for the grom, waited too long and didn't get the renewal discount.
So what? Can you blame them? They are running a business, during a pandemic. Not like you are on to some huge conspiracy to defraud the public here Columbo. Not like you are going to hop on a plane and fly out to CO to ski there because you saw the lines were short on the webcam.
Don't worry y'all Benny is hot on the trail of the Abasin webcam debacle!

Not me man, but, the front range is home to millions. Good luck. Code Red. Happy Thanksgiving. Head out of sand.
People should keep in mind that a long single line of spaced out pairs, threes, singles etc will look a lot worse than the usual mass of people walking on each others' skis and joining the crowd from the side instead of the back.
Hopefully the early adopters will let the rest of the folks now how long the lines are timewise.
As far as powder days--they've been a cluster fuck for years; why would anyone expect them to be better this year?
"Hey Al, I know you are just trying to do your best to keep the lifts spinning so people can get a little snow under their skis during these dark times, but I'm sitting here in some shitty condo on the east coast wondering what the fuck is up with the webcam?"

I have a feeling, a lot of people will be looking at resort webcams this season.

Ikon's app sucks for wait times. Like, I don't even think that's baked into it yet?
Didn't all Ikon resorts finally transition to RFID?
Gee, maybe they will used Covid as an excuse to finally come up with an app similar to Epic Mix! /sarc
Benny, do you have a season pass to Arapahoe Basin ski area?
Why, no, I don't.
WTF do pics from last year prove? Yeah, before they open the lifts on opening day, there is always a line. Sometimes those lines are really long. Sometimes people were standing closer together than 6' because guess what. Way back then, there wasn't a global pandemic.
I wonder if they had to change anything to prevent that from happening this year to be allowed to open by the state? Nah, they probably just told em to shut off their web cam.
Oh what's that alert from the NY Times say? NYC just shut down its school system due to skyrocketing coronavirus cases? Oh, I wonder if they have a webcam for Bunny to watch. How's CT doing? Cases steadily decreasing no doubt?
I was just told my buddy who lives there, and is on his fourth day, that there is no crowd control (RIFD) and just mask warnings. But he was probably fibbing.

I just feel so lucky we have guys like Benny who actually check the web cams for resorts thousands of miles from their home to resort on line, so the rest of us don’t have to waste our lives doing so. Thank you Benny for your contributions.
Drug my feet on renewing this year and now feeling like taking a gamble...new lockdowns and all.
Anyone able to share a discount code that still works?
