Thanks guys! We got a short day at Sunshine yesterday and today at LL turned shorter than planned, too, but can confirm LL is really skiing pretty well. More would help, but comparing the Summit to Goat's Eye is pretty stark. Hopefully we can get to the rest of LL tomorrow.

We’re heading out on Sunday for a week. Planning on skiing LL & sunshine. Have a BC guide on Thursday. How’s the snow been? Thanks in advance!

Great snow right now. About a foot of snow fell over the weekend on what were awesome chalky conditions thanks to the extended cold period. Advice is to ski backside north facing terrain as it won’t be sun affected by this warm stretch.

LL is skiing better than SSV, but if you are in town for a few days, I would ski both.

They both take as long to get from where you are staying to sitting on a chair. LL= 45 min drive vs SSV = 20 min drive + 20 min goldola.

easy free bus transport from most hotels to the ski area front doors.

Dang so much gold in here. Thanks lion and all others who have chimed in. Gf and I are headed up for the week from Big Sky, in Whitefish now. Will be kicking around big3 Tuesday-Friday, real excited to see it all, and see if LL is really as rocky as BS; it’ll make me feel at home [emoji38] Maybe see y’all around. Thanks again big time for the insider info

Well we have had a nice refresh at the local ski areas, but overall its still a very low snow year. Most of us have just not skied as much, to save our bodies and our skis, but you know who as still been out on hill everyday? David Petch and the crew at The Lake Louise Ski Resort & Summer Gondola thats who. They have been trashing skis more then ever, so that we can all enjoy the terrain when its good. Remember all the times that they helped out out, or told you about terrain opening (or maybe rescued you from something bad that happened?). Ya, time to pay it back
So if anyone has some extra skis that the mountain opps team can use, I'm collecting for them. Looking for that pair of skis that you dont use anymore, so you kept them. Maybe that extra pair that you kept for visiting friends / family but have just been sitting in storage getting in the way for 3 years. Maybe its a pair of skis that your kids outgrew and you dont need.
Petch and the crew can use them and finish destroying the skis so you dont have to. This is the season to play it forward gang...

Drop off with me in banff and I"ll collect to get to the team

Would an old set of Volkl CMH explosives (180cm) be of use to them? If so I can get them down to Banff.

Dont worry about what the skis are, they can use anything free. Skinny or fat , long or short (some patrol will only hae fat skis that are hard to use now, some patrol are smaller humans that smaller sksi are JUST fine)
