Nordic Valley, Utah gets a new name & owner

Nordic Valley Ski Resort Under New Ownership
New name will be Wolf Mountain

(Eden, UT-June 2005) It’s official. Nordic Valley Ski Resort is now owned by Wolf Creek Resort and sports a new name – Wolf Mountain.

A busy summer is in store, with a general clean up, and repairs of equipment and buildings taking place. Resort official Rob Thomas noted “Our facilities improvement schedule includes demolition of some of the old buildings, recontouring and grading of the parking lot, reworking the entryway and cleaning up the big white barn.

We’ve already made our commitment for a state-of-the-art Bombardier groomer, which will greatly increase the consistency of our snow quality – I have visions of perfect corduroy and schools of young skiers enjoying it!”

“Our objective is to make Wolf Mountain the best learning hill in the west, and keep the prices as affordable as possible,” commented Cindy Beger, Wolf Mountain’s new Ski School Director and 25 year PSIA instructor.

“I have just begun the recruiting process so that we have a full team of instructors by the time the snow flies.” Long range plans call for the addition of a tubing hill with skier’s bridge, a zip line, and the addition of trails for cross country skiing, biking and hiking.

The Wolf Pass is already on sale at the Wolf Creek resort. This pass includes year-round access to the Wolf Creek’s Recreation Center, with year round fitness center, racquetball courts and game room, summer-long access to the pool, tennis & volleyball courts and unlimited day or night skiing at Wolf Mountain.

Steve Roberts, Wolf Creek’s Managing Member described the combined pass: “It’s an incredible family value at the introductory price of $699. Wolf Mountain offers the most affordable skiing and riding in Utah.

This is an ideal setting to bring the entire family to learn how to ski or snowboard.” Roberts commented: “We hope to get those locals who haven’t skied in years back out to enjoy the sport again at very affordable prices.” For more information, please contact Cindy Beger at 745-0264 or cbeger@wolfcreekresort.com or visit www.wolfmountaineden.com

First on their list of changes should be taking the lift to the top of the mountain. We used to night ski there in high school. It was usually pretty fun. We had some good jump runs lined up.

Sounds like we were in the same boat until I bagged Nordic Valley last season, Woodsy.
Elk Meadows never did open this year (again) and I can't seem to locate anyone who can tell me if they ever will.
I've wanted to check it out ever since I found out years ago that at 11,300ft it is the second highest ski resort in the state (after Brian Head 11,600). Let me know if you find out anything on Elk. I'll do the same.
